I'd love us to re-sign Ronny, he makes mistakes defensively coming in too far I'll admit that but he's got that passion with the club, he's got that athletic ability to get us tough put downs himself (tries), decent under the high ball too.

Yes he does, but Katoa races out of the line for no good reason a lot also...

He can't match Ronnie for height, athleticism, line breaks, metres, tries, taking bombs, or looks for that matter...

But Katoas work coming out of his own end eclipses Ronnies.
He takes some seriously tough carries
So what? Doesn't change the fact that he can't match Ronnie for height, athleticism, line breaks, metres, tries, taking bombs, or looks for that matter...

Will come down to how much Ronnie is worth on the open market (and how much he is willing to stay for).

I have a feeling it's going to come down to keeping either Ronnie or Stonestreet.

Katoa won't cost overs and is a safe bet when balancing out the cap.

See I think if Ronnie is affordable to keep then Katoa is more likely to leave.
I think there are some in here undervaluing Sione’s contribution (and/or over valuing where Sam is at) but I do think he’s worth re-signing and it comes down to Ronnie or Katoa.

If Ronnie leaves Katoa’s price to stay could creep up a touch to keep too, being only experienced winger left.

Also Ramien throws a lot of pretty dicey offloads which I don’t think just anyway can consistently grab onto

I'm thinking we'll end up with Katoa and Stonestreet in 2026, with Kristian Dixon pushing both of them by then.

Katoa contracted to 2026 at good value, Ronaldo missing home, and Stonestreet has the inside running as a De La local junior.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Stonestreet re-sign first. That would then put the pressure on Ronnie and give us some leverage. If that means he re-signs for less to stay at the club, maybe we move Katoa on. If he plays hard ball we let him go as you've said. Wing is somewhere we don't need to overspend as we look to strengthen the roster overall.

Heard a club did enquire about trying to sign Katoa recently for next season.

I still think Katoa offers more than Stonestreet and so would like to keep him for next year, but if him leaving early is the best way we can get him off our books and bring in Stonestreet then so be it.

I dont rate Dixon that highly, not enough to be pushing Katoa and Stonestreet. He does look solid but not sure he's at there level, plenty of time to develop though.
