Can't blame the ref for the defensive holes behind our ruck for 2 tries , those were the killers , gave them hope , if they hadn't got those i think we go in 12 up , makes for a different 2nd half .

The bunker has always been a bit iffy & all towards the Cowboys come really close games with them, I'll never forget their win over Tigers either how they easy got away with that all thanks to the bunker aswell. Our defence wasn't crash hot, they got 2 of the softest tries ever after we'd just taken a lead, Dearden straight through a big hole in the centre. Their coach Payten has just about taken over Bellamy as my most disliked now, never gives out any credit when it's due for others in very close games, nothing but blames the referee on games they lose & always thinks they still deserved to win. Holmes has gone down alot for me aswell.

I think what HB is saying mate is if we had held the ball and not defended so poorly then the bunker doesn’t matter. Very good teams overcome this. We are a good team but not very good. Yet.

I agree that the bunker is awful at times but there were at least half a dozen other reasons outside of the officiating that lost us that game.

One for instance right at the end Nicho put up a bomb that was way too shallow. I would have thought the best kick at that time was a lower trajectory one that would pin them in the corner.
This - Nothing to do with the ref - at least 2 of their tries were due to woeful, incompetent defence on our part. In fact, no way they score those against the other finalists.

I don't recall their fullback tackling the goal post either...

Was that a fair penalty on Moylan at the end (playing the ball on his foot). In my drunken state it looked like the Cowboy player deliberately reached forward to place the ball near his foot.

I've seen that ruled against the ball carrier during the year.

I can't rewatch games that we have lost so will take your word for it either way.

Not sure how people can put themselves through re-watching games we've lost.

Thought Moylan's penalty in the ruck was warranted. He interfered regardless if it was accidental.

I feel the same way, we’re just on the wrong side of the draw now. Absolutely seething we threw it away yesterday.
Can we give this wrong side of the draw **** a rest and premiership window being closed garbage?

To win the premiership we would have to have beaten one of these teams anyway. If you think our premiership window is closed because we have to play them now prior to the final, it was never bloody open to begin with.

Think ramien hitting outside shoulder was a massive turning point.. blokes been putting ball on other guys foot for 60 plus years when trying desperately 4 a penalty Cameron smith was the master of it, we needed to be smarter and relize it was massive chance of happening. Couldn’t ice the game, we will learn from the sting

Still hurts this morning. Beautiful day today and there is Cronulla Spring Festival.

Will go out, recharge and enjoy the day and we will be back at it next week.

Whatever happens: Up Up Cronulla :shark:
Saw Nicho in the mall at spring fair yesterday

I’m the same, I watched replay of a few decisions quickly last night but won’t revisit again. I couldn’t see what Moylan did wrong, he walked straight back, his feet can’t disappear

No I wont.

Anyones only hope of winning this year was getting to the grand final and hope to surprise Penrith who hopefully after a tough Prelim against the Roosters/Bunnies/Cowboys would be a tiny bit leg sore and/or take advantage of the unpredictability of the big occasion of a Grand final. Now we’re on their side of the draw where we’re going to be playing them fully rested and full of confidence in a prelim, thats only if we inch a win over the Chooks or Bunnies and on our form the past month, thats unlikely. So yes, there is a right and wrong side of the draw this year imo and we’re now on the wrong side of it because we ****ing choked last night.

I think we were the better team and they should have been good enough to close out the game but I do think the officiating had more of an effect on the result than people think.
Penalty count 5-2 Cowboys
Six again 4-2 Cowboys
Only 1 offside penalty given. To the Cowboys in the 71st minute. Crucial!
Hynes tackled in the air 3-4 times after kicking, no penalty.
All 50-50 bunker decisions in the second half went to the Cowboys.
All of this at our home ground.

FFS - we gifted them easy tries with terrible defence - that's what was the difference on the scoreboard...

How the **** does that in any shape or form make us the better team?

By theory Tracey could have been sinbinned AND a penalty try given. We were lucky that refs seem reticent to apply both choices at the same time.

By what theory?
Why would we get a penalty for that?

You don’t have prof foul and penalty try.
You can tackle a kicker ‘in the air’
