Just thought I'd bump this thread again to see how our predictions all fared.

I think we had pretty good expectations of our team this year and most people predicted us to finish in the 7th to 10th position where it will certainly be.

But when you look over all the things that have happened to us throughout the year I think we've done pretty well and 2022 looks much brighter.

Let's hope this weekend the cards fall for us and we hop into that 8th spot.

I was a bit harsh on Knights (not my much) Eels and Manly earlier in this thread
Big question for Manly was how their forwards would go with no AFB and Davey coming in to second row... well they brought through two absolute weapons in the second row as it turns out, to really flesh out there pack.

I only see our squad improving in a few ways from last year

- Our rookies being more seasoned with another off season which I think will see big improvements but not sure how much ?
- A fit Moylan and Fifita which could make a huge difference to us
- singling out Brailey being in a spine position but his development and improvement should be noticeable.

Then again no SJ for the first n number of weeks is a big negative and no real recruits of any nature isn't great.

I'll be ecstatic with a top 8 finish, but I think I'll be happy if we just nail some good recruits for 2022 and lock in a coach. See this year as a gap year before we hopefully go back to Shark Park in 2022.

Well can't complain about my predictions/expectations

Melbourne minus Smith come back to the field big time. I don’t care how good a first season Grant had.

As professional as the storm are, I just think they win games because of Smith. Journeyman players can play well in that system because they have simple jobs to do, because Smith does all the hard stuff. The complex stuff.

Who’s doing it now?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oh woooooow. The complete opposite happened champion.

I just looked at the draw. Is there any team who plays in so many different locations? Melbourne, Townsville, Brisbane, Tamworth, Coffs Harbour, Sunshine Coast, Central Coast, Newcastle, Canberra, Auckland

Just 5 games in Sydney in 4 months of footy from April through July.

Hello there burgess's early season travel concern, allow me to introduce myself

I think we will have a good year all things considered - everything should be better player and coaching wise bar the injury to SJ and losing The Adonis to Penrith

Hooker depth a concern as is which Moylan we will get. Tolman is a massive bonus as will be a fit and firing Fifita. We will have better support coaches and motivators in the club. Young guys another year of experience under their belts. Hunt will come back fresh after the injury lay off and Woods playing for a contract where he typically steps it up. A proper pre-season training under last seasons rule changes. Coach should know what is required by now.

But 6th on the table for mine. Slow start, good middle season and bit of a late fade as per usual to scrape into the finals. Will win our first elimination final and from there I don't know might even get to the following week

oh and btw Hello there too you as well Gards's early season prediction, allow me to introduce myself as well

Is there a way to automatically delete your your previous posts? Someone may read my post about Chad Townsend holding up the trophy as captain coach at the end of the season!

No matter how well the Tigers play today they can't take their usual 9th place away from us

Another way to look at it is who from the top 8 from last year do you believe will miss out this year?

I think the below all definitely make it, barring injuries

Penrith
Storm
Roosters
Souths

Probably make it

Knights
Canberra
Parra....although could easily miss out

I think Manly make it IF Turbo and Foran stay fit. That's a bloody big if though.

I also expect the Titans to give the 8 a serious nudge as well.

Not too bad

Yeah I have the 9-11 sort of feeling, like someone posted a couple back, I’m happy (sort of) to take a small step back if it means taking a couple future steps forward in regards to our recruiting and retention. Just beat the drags and manly twice storm at least once and I will find my inner zen.

Nostradamus, not that it was that big a stretch, got drags twice

Yep and they have become Tasmanian Tigers - pretty much extinct except the odd crazy rumour of a sighting here or there.
