Getting easier to pick now and will be almost obvious after this weekend barring suspensions or injuries. It's just annoying knowing we have to go through a trigger finger period with the policing of the rules like something out of a B grade prison movie. If you remember last year towards the back end of the season the rules relaxed again and we got to watcha few weeks of un-interrupted by over reactive officialdom games of footy.

With all that being said, here's my team

1. Kennedy
2. Katoa
3. Tracey
4. Ramien
5. Mulitalo
6. Moylan
7. Hynes
8. Finucan
9. Brailey
10. Rudolf
11. Nikora
12. Graham
13. McInnes

14. Williams
15. BHU
16. Talakai
17. Wilton

18. Fifita

Tolman, Hunt, Metcalf,
Yep. That should be the team.

That's what I am currently thinking also, but it wouldn't blow me away if Wilton dropped out for Tolman

Tolmans biggest asset is his motor - playing him from the bench kinda wastes that and he brings little impact from there. He will hold up a end though making his tackles for 40-50 mins or whatever you would play him for. If Tolman had to be picked I would honestly rather start him and bring rudolf on from the bench.

Toby is the one that has struggled with endurance and making his tackles. Unless this has improved signifcantly over the off season he could do with less minutes and hopefully rediscover some of the form he burst onto the sharks scene with.

This is all hypothetical, I like Tolman but our best 17 should not include him anymore. He is quality reliable depth.
But Wilton is the future and the now and can play second row better than the other benchies.

Not good with the Mcinness news I've just seen but with him gone makes things a tad easier to pick...

1. Kennedy
2. Katoa
3. Ramien
4. Tracey
5. Mulitalo
6. Moylan
7. Hynes
8. Fifita
9. Bailey
10. Rudolf
11. Nikora
12. Graham
13. Finucane

14. Williams
15. BHU
16. Talakai
17. Wilton

18. Tolman.

Hunt & Metcalf left out.

If we had a Trindall available I'd probably put him as utility but now we don't have a utility & leaves space for an extra forward on the bench in the 17. I don't know where we put Tolman but I'd rather have Fifita in there then him. Others will probably be different & I accept that.

Good side mate, but I doubt even with McInnes out and Finuacane to 13 that Fifita starts or is even in the 17. I think it will be BHU to starting prop with Tolman on the bench.

Agree but I could also see Tolman skipping straight into starting as a choice to fit a role

Yeah well it was tough to pick that frontline & I was umming & aaring about Fifita & Tolman in the 17 but in the end I had to stick with Fifita. I think he's still got it in him to do us good this year. I knew people would disagree with me on that though.

Fifs will always be a Sharks legend mate, but I don't think he's ahead of the guys I mentioned at the moment. We'd have to lose another two forwards I think for him to be even considered.

McInnes can make like a tooth and get out?
Yep he the mouth of the Carcharodan Carcharias Sharks Machine, ripping and tearing! But but but ... is he injured himself? Let this not be the pattern for 2 of our aged, battle worn recruits.

Definitely. I think 35-45 is ideal.

Ideally it shouldn't, but if he is doing the job better than the other players he should be picked ahead of them. Based on last year he should be picked over BHU, Talakai, Hunt and Fifita - and now that there is no McInnes, picking Tolman is a no brainer. Someone's going to have to eat up Cam's defensive workload. It certainly won't be any of those other 4, and loading up Rudolf with that job just sends us back to last year.
