My mail is Reni Matua to go to Saints 2009 and has already signed.

Gummyshark can confirm this as he advised me of this.

id rather have

inu
hayne
folau (played centre back end of season)
covell
brett morris
josh morris
turner
burt (played fullback before he got injured)
b.stewart (Fullback)
quinn
cooper(centre)
gasnier (centre)
jennings(Centre)
gordon

just to name a few..over rooney

where trying to win a comp not sign hacks like rooney from a team who won the spoon last year

Mate Rooney's a winger, you have named other positions there?

I agree with the maj of players you have named, but they are in a different league to Rooney. Thats like saying peach we shouldn't of signed Peek cos their are 1000 better props than him. eg. Asotasi, O'Meley, Douglas, Petrol 77 a litre, Price.

i think rooney is still quite a capable player, sure i concede the fact that he hasn't played brilliantly since 03 and 04, but he is still a pretty decent player, all i was saying was that if we could sign him cheap, we would have good depth in the backline, especially now that covell is injured.

I think there would be plenty of others I would chase before him, but he can play.

they can play the whole backline and ive seen them all play on the wing

and i wouldnt sign peek because i want to use that money to throw at douglas....and id bring up another young forward..give him experience so in 2009 we can really push deep into the finals

Interesting idea Peach, but I can think of one possible drawback...Beau Scott might follow the money trail in the other direction and end up in the black white and blue once more!

All the way back to North Haverbrook??

Peach can you help me make up my mind, I'm just not firing on all cylinders. Should I call you Gill or Lyle?
