Awesome news.

It has been so good, not worrying about the club going bankrupt and having a competent board and leadership team. I hope the good times keep rolling for a very long time yet.

In the presser lyall mentioned it was a 5 year deal. Not sure if the deal is only for 3 years of ground sponsor and 2 years of another form of sponsorship

It said we also hired them as cleaning staff etc. How would that work? The whole us paying them as they sponsor us confuses me. Would the amount of sponsor ship be influenced by the amount of work we will be providing them.

Its great to have a stadium sponsor.

Its a great name.

Just in time for our FTA game.

BUT

Pity this couldn't have been finalised earlier. Every footy draw i've seen is Shark Park, they'd be spewin they missed out on that.

CRONULLA and Manly could be forced to move games to Allianz Stadium for the NRL to receive their proposed venue upgrade package from the NSW Government.

ARL Commission chairman John Grant will meet with representatives from the clubs on Wednesday as the NRL look to meet a 65-game commitment at Sydney’s major stadiums to ensure a $1.6 billion upgrade package for Pirtek, ANZ and Allianz Stadium, according to Fairfax Media.

Given Parramatta, Canterbury, South Sydney and the Sydney Roosters all use the stadiums as their home grounds, 23 games will need to be shared between the Wests Tigers, St George Illawarra, Penrith, the Sharks and the Sea Eagles.

The Tigers and Dragons currently each play four games a year between the stadiums, however the NRL — who provide financial assistance to both clubs — may ask them to up that figure to eight in order to help secure the funding.

It is understood the league would be unlikely to ask Penrith to move games away from their base at Pepper Stadium.

That is likely to leave both Manly and Cronulla needing to play a combined seven matches at Sydney’s big stadiums, which would most likely be at Allianz.

Manly, in particular, could prove a difficult case in the NRL. Since their privatisation in 2004, the club’s constitution states they must play at least 10 games a season at Brookvale Oval.

That figure could only be decreased via a referendum of the district football club’s members, who hold a minority stake on the NRL club’s board.

The Sharks would also be unlikely to support a substantial move, given they only acquired a new naming rights sponsor for their Woolooware base earlier this month.

The NRL has until April 1 to achieve the 65-game commitment, and will then have until May 31 to decide how they want the funding split between Moore Park and ANZ Stadium.

Upgrades on Pirtek Stadium in Parramatta will begin this year.

Sounds like a nrl problem not ours
They shouldn't be making agreements like that and then forcing teams like us to play games away from cronulla

Hopefully the club really digs in their heels and stops this from happening. However if they have no choice, we better be putting our hand out for a piece of the funding, as it would be absolute bull**** for us to lose revenue and not get anything back.

So NRL now saying Sharks can no longer have a home ground advantage for 4 or 5 games a year. This mob are a joke!

No quotes in the article, I'm not too bothered at this stage. Cronulla v Manly at the SFS in front of 10,000 fans. No thanks.

I'd be happy for the club to take 3-4 of our games to these stadiums.

The first one being our Brookvale - Manly "away" game followed by the AAMI - Storm and then the Suncorp - Broncos "away" games.

As I've said before I could accept it if it was a game where we'd be guaranteed of drawing over 30,000. That's never going to happen for a non-finals game so they can piss off.
