What's the point anyway? Would Sydney FC attract 16k fans to a game at our ground?

If not, don't we lose money?

Surely the Sharks meant that if there's 12 home games a season, they need the takings to be based on an average 16k crowd to make the whole year profitable.

Which is different to an individual event making money vs the scenario of it sitting there empty.

16,000 at $30 is almost $500k. You reckon it'd cost anywhere near that to run the stadium for an event?

For every week it's in use for a home game, it has one or two weeks idle apart from training. So it would be the ~$500k over a 2-3w period, throw in the off season and no finals.

Having another team would surely help with the bills, and the ground looked an absolute treat when they mowed it for that soccer exhibition match a few years back, I'll see if I can find the pic

No idea, would be interesting to know.

It's not 16k x $30 either. Take out ticketed members, corporates etc.

Can't find the pic, but it was when we hosted the FIFA u20 World Cup friendly in May 2015, similar to this though, I don't know what's it's called when they have the grass cut differently for soccer matches
