I posted ages ago, gallen was a stats man and cruelled our attack, also mark my words, we should look to move him on quicker rather than later, we need to be ruthless, its not hard to find someone to do the job he does at a third of the price, its time for the board to become ruthless, and gallen is the first that should be moved on. Find a kid with a bit of size and a big motor and move him on. Plenty of blokes in the top grade would be quite happy to see him go. A big mouth with an even bigger ego.

His ego and his mouth would certainly dwarf your brain!!

Gal can occasionally be guilty of trying to do too much and stifling our attack, but he's still the best (and not to mention most high-profile) player we have.

What's more, he's done more for the sharks than most ever will, and will retire a club (and potentially game) legend. Your post is just... no.

If this bloke was to move to prop full time from next year do you think it would make a difference to his style of play? I think to him it will just be a number. But he really needs to realize that his job is too make metres by running hard and straight and tackling hard. I don't mind the occasional pass behind the back but to jump into dummy half on the 5th and kick for yourself is just ****ing stupid.

Thoughts???

Flanno's hinted at it before, so hopefully when he comes back Gallen can take a more quality over quantity approach with his ball playing.

That said, he's still got the highest work rate in the NRL (as far as I'm aware). Can a team ranked second last for meters gained really afford to let a player like him go?

And lets not forget we're having a slight problem attracting quality players to the club. Are we supposed to let the NSW Captain and Australian Vice Captain go to sign a handful of average players?

He's shown great loyalty to us, and sure he's being rewarded for it now but jeeze. What more does a player have to do to have the fans of his own team support him?

What other forward grabs the ball on 4th tackle for a hitup inside the opp's 30? What other forward over calls his halves and runs the play on the last?

And Flanno has been talking about Gal going to prop and doing less minutes for two years and it hasn't happened and won't happen.

We get rid of Gallen we can finally rebuild our game.

Let's not forget that the last two years have been anything but business as usual - no matter how many times the club says differently. Flanno hasn't even coached us this year.

I get dirty with Gal for the same reasons you do, but at least we know he's doing what he thinks is best for the team. He did it less with Toddy around, which gives you some insight into how much faith he has in our current playmakers.

The club/coach/whoever has to have a heart to heart with him and explain how we want him to play. If he doesn't like it then he's free to leave on his own terms. But forcing him out is just a massive waste, and would be yet another case of treating a club legend disrespectfully. David Peachey, anyone?

We need someone with the balls to stand up to Gal and over call him. If Gal plays a props game and nothing but he would still be a HUGE asset to this side but as it is on occasion he is a liability.

He is one of the true club greats and I want nothing more than to see him lift the trophy for Cronulla but it's not going to happen unless he changes his playing style.

It's at least partly disorganisation that leads to it.

If we had a set play where he's steaming through for either a good money ball or as a decoy, then hopefully he wouldn't be getting the ball in the halfback position.

He's still one of the best forwards in the game just needs to remember exactly that, he's a forward not a playmaker

He's a ball hog and lacks football smarts. Wouldn't bother me at all if he left tomorrow.
His much hyped work rate makes me laugh because he is talked about as if there is no other player standing there wanting to take all the runs he does. They just get over called.

i couldnt care less if gal moved on, our attack flows more when he doesnt play

I'm with you now on this. Remember I stated that I didn't want him to play last week.

He is only useful for us as a metre eating prop.

He can **** off from captain next year as well
