it's the OS holy war thread! ftw!!!1!!

it has been written about fairly widely that the components in a mac are of a higher standard than of a pc in a similar price bracket. will you deny the quality of Apple's components?

are they a pain in the arse to you just because you prefer to work with windows and don't know what you're doing with a mac?

you also just pulled the "its better for the music i make" card. mine is. working on a Macbook Pro i can navigate much quicker and easier through my recording session, scrolling, scrubbing over sections etc with simple gestures sooooo much more easier than i could with any weird, clunky thing on a pc. that's a fact. that sort of ease and speed is priceless when in a recording or mixing session. why wouldn't i want that? so elitist of me. i'm such a jerk. i paid a few extra bucks for my quality computer i'm such a **** oh my god.

Hahaha this thread is ridiculous...Who cares? Each to their own and if others don't agree with your choice, so what?

You know that people are suffering from rugby league withdrawals when they are having such in-depth discussion and argument about this **** topic.

oh and Mark, come on mate. before you burn Safari (which i don't use), take a look at the glorious Internet Explorer. ha! and before you burn iTunes, take a look at the amazing Windows Media Player or worse still...Windows Media Center. garbage!

Internet Explorer is horrible and better than Safari
Windows Media Player is horrible and better than iTunes
Windows Media Centre is awesome yet somewhat buggy and a mile in front of whatever Apple have come up with, which last time I checked doesn't even support PVR/Tuners.

Seriously, in 5 years time Apple will release a version of Apple TV with in built tuners and everyone will make out like it's some new thing even though I've been doing that for 8 years now.

Why would I want a tuner on my apple tv when it's plugged into a tv that has two of them?

i once had a chat with a computer techie who sold computers and computer networks to business, he said he only sold them pc's to keep his computer maintenance side of his operations in business lol.

personally, im neither here nor there in terms of OS. I have a mac desktop, a windows laptop, and an android tablet. i dont like how windows is so susceptible to viruses and hacking, i dont like how OSX is so 'dumb' in terms of its user operation, and i dont like how android is so power hogging and requires high spec components in order to run efficiently.

tehcnology sucks

Mark, might i ask what your problem with iTunes is? sure it's a little bit heavy for what it does but i got 8gb RAM so it's never messing with my business.

it supports most relevant audio files and plays m4a and mpeg4 video. everything else can either be converted to one of these formats using free software or played through the dvd player app or a free app like VLC player (which i've not yet needed to do).
it syncs itunes purchases i might have made on my phone. it manages the apps and media on my phone. it streams all of it's library to my apple tv, seamlessly, and hassle free.

not sure what other amazing super powers you might need a media player to have but it seems to take care of business for me.

Haha, well I have a degree and work in a company that probably has 30,000 PC's on a network. Apple make toys for rich kids, hipsters and art students. End of story.

Baha, best!

Best thread in here for a while ;)

I think so mate go back to post 19 and highlight the post fully even the white space.

Q: What is the difference between a Mac User and a Terrorist?
A: You can negotiate with a terrorist.

Q: What do Mac Users use for birth control?
A: Their personalities!

You can't negotiate with a PC user by the looks of this thread either.

epic thread. made my day.

deal with this **** all day.

Mac os is built on 1970s architecture. supports a VERY limited range of hardware.
windows supports billions of permutations of hardware and software. bloating is an issue but what's 20gb of storage between friends.

used my overpriced Mac for 2 weeks. interesting until it went in the cupboard where it sits today. in a dark corner just like most Mac users.

the next person who tries to tell me Macs don't get malware or viruses will be greeted with extreme predjudice.
