that would be way too many changes to make

unfortunately, moylans injury will mean feki remains

Yeah mate you are probably right but as I said, it would just be for this game.

Any reason to have Feki playing Jets at the moment.

Not so much worried about fergo on the wing, as I am him coming infield.our structures should be able to limit their backline plays, but just need to keep an eye on where Fergo is popping up

Some teams have been consciously kicking to Fergo, putting it high so that their defenders are on him the moment he catches it. That way he gets no wind up whatsoever.

Not a bad op if we can get our kick chase right.

Yeah I agree there is an area on the field where this is a good plan.

You don't want your long, clearing kicks going to him (or where Gutho can link up with him).
You don't really wanna try and beat him with a bomb on the try line as he's huge.
But if we're around 40 out and wanna bomb it so it lands around 10-20 from their line in time for our guys to get there that could be an option.

Everyone needs to expect it though because if it's not done well he just needs to beat one person and he's off.
If everyone expecting it fullback can go in and far side winger can start to wrap a little as an insurance - you don't have to drop and head in very far to be able to get across as cover if needed.
If fullback does end up in tackle far winger can hold as cover otherwise he just drifts back to his spot.

I think boogs is in doubt as well with a calf so don’t expect him to be 100% in.

We’ve also gotta be careful we don’t focus so hard on fergo that we forget about the men on his inside

Feki just needs to get involved. Obviously we're favouring our right in attack - even Josh Moz is seeing little ball. Feki needs to get right in on play 1,2,3 returns. The **** up leading to a try on Saturday was because his foot jammed into that pathetic turf as he went to smother the ball. I've had no real issues with him when involved he's just not doing much and needs to take some initiative to go looking if it isn't coming to him.

Agree, just when the Doubters find Voice -the ol Fekster comes thru with good play. ie Banana kick for Townsend try last year.

Probably the first game this year I'm not overly confident.

The loss of Moyza cannot be understated for us. Massive loss.

If we were ful strength I would be very confident we’d walk away with the points but being a few troops down coming off the back of travel and that humidity I think we will struggle and be gassed late in the game.

either way I think it will be a close relatively low scoring game - I don’t think we will have the energy to put on a lot of points and our Defence shouldn’t be too troubled by the eels attack.

my head is says 20-12 to eels but my heart says 18-16 to us

I think you just summed up a big part of his problem but taking a few extra hit ups is about as involved as we can expect. He hasn't got the ability to make his own chances like alot of wingers. granted was a couple freakish efforts last year

Maybe if we didn't have a whole bunch of other injuries to worry about that'd be worth some serious consideration but I think we will be disrupted enough to also make unforced changes.

Stopping Fergo in attack will be more about making sure Feki is in the right spot to stop him which means the inside shifting out correctly.
If the inside doesn't man up or shift out correctly and Feki has to hover on the centre he won't be able to push out and stop Fergo.
If Morris has the centre well covered Feki is strong enough to stop Fergo. Fergo may still be able to barge over on a short side play but he'd probably barge over against whoever else we put there too.

Don't kick to Fergo and be awake to kicking to Gutherson but on Fergos half of the field as he can definitely burn us by drawing defenders and passing out to Blake.

yea can't afford fergo getting 1 on 1 with Feki, he will own him so Morris gunna have a busy night keeping things in check out there. but all the same we can't adjust too many things for the sake of defending one man in Fergo.
I actually have my concerns on Feki's raw strength when it comes to defense but particularly on his technique. he isn't hard to beat

i honestly see xerri being picked

the pressure from within and without to give him a debut is alarming at the moment.

I spose we are gunna have to debut someone one way or another this weekend without resorting to an Aaron Grey type call up (he's injured anyway I think)
Capewell might have been relied on in the past to fill in @ centre but he already a starter this season with Wade sidelined and we are gunna need a longer solution regardless

Mozza or Duges getting injured was inevitable

there's usually only about 4-8 points between these teams when they play, don't see it being that different this weekend.

Why are we suddenly talking about Feki’s defensive ability? He got beaten to a few kicks against Fergo last year but the Roosters scored just 2 tries against us last year that weren’t from kicks - and neither Feki or Fergo were involved in either one.

Bombs are always a concern but Feki can handle playing defence against any other winger in the NRL, Fergo included.
