Yep. Tough game coming up, Parra are certainly a better team then last year. We simply can’t afford another first half like last week. No Moylan makes it difficult but it’s exciting to see what either Xerri or Kennedy do. Would be great to see one of them finally get a chance. Us by 4.

Mate we could be playing Como Under 14's and you'd call it a tough game.

In saying that, yes this one will be a tough game. :)

Feki v Fergo, oh dear is correct. Ferguson will have him for toast.

Ok, thinking outside the square, and just for this game, how about the following line up on Saturday.
And this is assuming a straight swap, Kennedy for Moylan.

Kennedy
Dugan
Morris
Xerri
Katoa
Johnson
Townsend

Feki is ready to be dropped anyway so why not put Dugan on Feki's wing for this one game to keep Ferguson quiet.
Bring Xerri into Dugan's spot on the right (Xerri has been playing right centre for the Jets) and have him playing with Katoa.

I think Nikora has been playing well enough to hold his own defensively and he'd be familiar with how Xerri and Katoa play.

It's not ideal but could work for this game.

Oh dear

Because I genuinely believe that any game in this comp is a tough game for us. Any team can beat us on any given day. But it works the other way round as well.

We have a better team on paper, it will be disappointing if we don’t win.

As for ferguson, don’t kick to him, take him out of the game.

I agree with a lot of the above
Start Boogs and use Williams as we were previously.
I would prefer to see Uele over Sorensen based on trial form and effort however Sorensen has been holding his place in the 19 (I think?) so may be ahead of Uele.

As a player I don't have any issue with us using Dugan at FB, especially as that brings in Xerri, however as a fragile glass human I would be concerned if Duges was playing there for say 4+ weeks so I guess it depends how serious Moylan is.
If Moylan is long term I don't really know because I don't know enough about Kennedy but I'm not sold on him from what I have read... but I think the chances of Dugan dying would be too high.

Also agree we need to take Fergo out of the game by kicking away from him.
Means he has to take second hitup if he wants to and we will be more set by then to stop him.
As long as our outside three defenders work together Ferguson shouldn't have much space and Feki is strong enough to stop him if he doesn't have much room.

From what I’ve heard, this Kennedy seems to be a ball player, more of a third half in the design of MM, bringing him in may not disrupt the game plan as much. Just a thought

As for Xerri he can replace Feki, him and JM can swap around a bit to give him some centre experiences (maybe the old centre in attack and wing in defence manoeuvre)

This is why I think Kennedy makes sense, plus I don't like seeing Dugan at FB, better at centre. Defensively he's been great at shutting down things.

I was really happy with both our centres on Saturday too. It's a tough choice to make.

Kennedy at 1, Xerri to replace Feks on the wing, whoever marks up on Fergo is gunna be in for a tough arvo, maybe to unfair to throw Xerri in the for his FG debut?

Since it’s a long term thing I think you’ll find coach may put Kennedy in there... being prone to injuries and the ball play factor should make him stick with Dugan at centre.

I do want to see Xerri play but maybe not this game against Ferguson

Yeah would be stupid to play Xerri out of position and against the form winger of the comp.

No. Not Xerri against Ferguson.

But, as I suggested above, put Dugan there for just this game marking Ferguson and bring Xerri into the centres.

Maybe if we didn't have a whole bunch of other injuries to worry about that'd be worth some serious consideration but I think we will be disrupted enough to also make unforced changes.

Stopping Fergo in attack will be more about making sure Feki is in the right spot to stop him which means the inside shifting out correctly.
If the inside doesn't man up or shift out correctly and Feki has to hover on the centre he won't be able to push out and stop Fergo.
If Morris has the centre well covered Feki is strong enough to stop Fergo. Fergo may still be able to barge over on a short side play but he'd probably barge over against whoever else we put there too.

Don't kick to Fergo and be awake to kicking to Gutherson but on Fergos half of the field as he can definitely burn us by drawing defenders and passing out to Blake.
