Just want to make a special mention to dj for blowing up at a raiders fan who called wade ugly, then abused an old woman who asked him to stop swearing. We smoothed it all over then she asked me if i had any speed she could have.

We were pretty bad last night but the bunker decisions were awful.

The double movement try now sets a precedent that you can promote the ball after the ball carrying arm hits the ground - if that was a try so was the Holmes try v Knights.

Their first try was a clear lost ball to say there was downward pressure is ludicrous.

Even the raiders supporters were confused as to why they awarded those two tries.

All in all we were bad and a few things contributed to that BUT we know have the chance to turn this around quick with a good showing against the dragons. We are on track for a top two which exceeds my expectations for this season by far! Go sharkies

5 day turnaround. Missed Ennis badly

Raiders weren't onside at marker one all night... and in most instances the guys running up on Maloney were in front too.

The Austin try IMO was probably the worst bunker call we've copped all season. No way they can defend that decision given the try they took off Brisbane last week and also the one they denied Val v Newcastle. The bunker is a complete joke. It's crap like this that is turning fans away.

If we weren't doing as well as we are I wouldn't be watching nrl at all. I don't watch any other games anymore it's a complete joke. ****ing lottery when they go to the bunker these days. Useless ****s

Who would you have him in place of? I think he could be the "fourth" reserve, in place of the hooker/back when Ennis returns.

I really think we need a big middle forward on the bench, possibly to replace one of tags/heino/bukuya. How is JSL playing? I'm assuming he's not setting the world on fire.
JSL is going ok, but probably no better than taga. I think we drop Paulo and have a bench of Heino/Taga/Bukuya/Capewell. The first 3 play in the middle and Capewell comes on for Lewis.

The bunker concept is good. It is just manned by idiots.
Exactly! The technology is perfect, but the people using it are making bad calls. Personally I believe it should be like boxing. They have 3 guys in the bunker, they each make an independent call, and it's best of 3.

goes further then the bunker. The on field refs are just as bad. That's across the whole nrl. When a ball comes free it really is a 50/50 if the ref is going to call a strip or lost ball. Most times it's just a poor carry.

Whightons was one of the worst calls I have ever seen. There were three parts to it and people are getting confused.

1. He is tackled.
2. Another Sharks defender tackles him, propelling him slightly towards the try line but still short.
3. He hops his upper body off the ground, changes angle and propells himself over the try line.

The worst part is (2) didn't lead to a tackle bust. The first defender was enacting the tackle the whole time.

From memory he only had a handful of runs before coming off, they weren't to bad, not his best efforts but far from his worse.

The problem with the bunker is it fundamentally changed the way we interpret the rules, but the rules are still the same, so there is mismatch.

The rules need to become more black and white, to accomodate the bunker, which is here to stay. So for example scrap the double movement rule and disallow any try where the ball or arm carrying it touches the ground before the try line. Black and white. Scrap the knocked forward rule and call anything a knock on where the ball is dropped regardless of what direction it goes. Black and white. The obstruction rule. If a player is inside the block runner, it's obstruction. Regardless of any actual obstruction.

What players and fans need is certainty, and a lot of the current rules can't provide that.

Mate they are already black and white but they just fail to implement them 100% of the time.

Obstruction - if the lead runner makes contact with the outside shoulder or if the ball is caught on the inside of the lead runner its obstruction.

Double movement - if there is any effort to promote the ball its no try.

Its basic **** but they still get it wrong.

If you dumb it down even further you will lose half the excitement of a game.

Yeah obstruction is black and white, but double movement is foggy IMO. If you changed the rule, then the bunker is looking for the ball or arm touching the ground before the line, whereas at the moment they have to determine things like momentum and what is "promoting the ball" as opposed to grounding the ball. Issue of normal speed and slo mo come into it and it becomes interpretive. Which is the enemy of clear cut.

You blokes are beyond retarded.

Our team was undefeated for 16 rounds straight, we played the toughest game of our season last week and played tonight's game against a fresh Raiders team? What did you expect?

Your post after the Tits game.

3. Nobody
2. Nobody
1. Nobody

How good is our coach now?

That team isn't the slightest bit capable of winning the comp. I'm angry.

Is the bunker now worse than the old system ?

The try-no try ref call needs to go. While we are still using grainy **** slow motion footage in replays theres always gunna be controversy about some of the groundings/sideline touches too
