Hopefully we don't get that ref again, he was dead awful. Played some nice stuff today, but I still thought we were far from our best.

Barba could have got 5 tries if Val passed and if the 2 weren't taken off. :(

Val should have been given the kicking tee versus the Knights.

I'm guessing that his last go was just a confidence thing and the best way to fix that is to get him used to it.

A question for JimBob. Was Val any good at conversions in the lower grades?

I can recall someone talking Val's kicking up last season and saying that he should be ahead of Gordon as first choice...

Yeah I thought so too. Maybe Flanno doesn't want to screw with the wiring of his best try scorer.

I think Val has been a bit down last few weeks.
He was blitzing them early this year then went of the boil
A bit. Saw some good signs today though and his kicking issues
Are a confidence thing I reckon. He can kick em he just needs
To get the Monkey of his back. 2 tries today was a good start

I thought that was a very scratchy win. Far from clinical. 19 incomplete sets isn't acceptable.

We will be in for a long night next week against the titans if we dish up that illdiciplane and errors. We really need to work on it

* Ball control was atrocious today. It looked like we were a bit complacent and thought we had to score every play. Lucky Newcastle's defence was as flimsy as Dosit's predictions.
* Goal line defence was a lot better today, they needed to aim up after last week and the only try we gave up was a bit of a fluke.
* Matty Prior was a stand out in defence. Some real venom in those hits.
* Fifita was immense today, such a handful, him putting that grub Barnett in his place brought a smile to my face.
* I'd like to see Brown get more involved, but the touches he did have were class.
* Barba is a superstar. We need him to stay fit to be any chance at breaking our duck
* Feki had a lot of doubters at the start of the year, but now I'd rather have no one else on the flank for us.

Improvement needed, but 36-4 is a score line I'll gladly take any day.

disagree there. We defended well today and had good line movement. But our ball handling was atrocious and at poor parts of the field

To be fair the knoghts threw nothing at us tho. The roosters at least earned some of their line breaks
