Full time. Cronulla 20 (Katoa 2, Dugan, Nikora tries Johnson 2/4 goals) Gold Coast 6 (Lee try Gordon 1/1 goal)

All the damage done in the first half, a good thing too because that was an absolute disgrace of a second half. Criminal ball control, horrendous discipline. Lucky we were playing an even worse Gold Coast team, anyone else would of lapped us in the second half. Moylan, Johnson and Townsend looked good today, the backline looks lethal. Katoa with some good finishes but his hands let him down. Another good game by Nikora, we might have something special there.
I wrote at half time I was worried about us getting sloppy in the second half, it happened again. It seems getting a big lead makes us play our worst football. Is it cockiness? Complacency? Well whatever it is, it finally needs to be addressed. It seems to be an ongoing attitude problem that we’ve had since we’ve won the comp. Fix that **** up Bomber. No excuses for poor attitudes.

Good finishes? He has Casper the friendly ghost in front of him both times.

Haha I had no idea he was off til I saw him on the bench, what’s that say about him, definitely 17th of 17 players

Also had over 200 running metres, 7 tackle busts and 4 line breaks. Rocks and diamonds game if I ever saw one.

4 line breaks and 2 tries running into open space with no one within 5m of him.

At 20-0 half time we should have put that game away.

I don’t know what the answer is, but they need to sit down and have a good talk about it.

We play the Storm, Broncos or Roosters and we lose that one easily.

Moylan again had a great game, looked threatening in attack despite his injury in the second half.

Very impressed with Nikora, hope he’s right for next week.

CT and SJ were good but didn’t control the second half at all.

If you didn’t look at the scoreboard you’d reckon we were the team behind 20-0.

Katoa scored two tries which was good, but if he can’t catch the ball he’s no good in the op grade. Would love to see his error rate, wouldn’t surprise me if it got to double figures. Still MMM mustn’t have seen him drop the ball as he was named their MOM!

The forwards for me didn’t aim up today. Even in the first half they were soft and had no go forward. Fifita is still crabbing and when he does run straight, it’s at a snails pace and he’s easy meat.

Of the new guys, Nikora stood out as well as Jack Williams. I thought he was terrific. Don’t worry about Gal retiring this bloke will take his place.

And in finishing off, let me warn any forum guys out there about letting your missus get a season ticket and join you out there.

Cut lunches and water in the Sharks cooler, total whinge about getting their early (I knew parking today would be ****) and then whinging when we had to park miles away. Then went and got a coffee at 2.55 and wondered why she didn’t get back to the seat by kickoff.

My five hours of solitude at a Sharks game is over. :(

People need to chill the **** out. It’s Rd 2 and we got the win. We’ll improve as we get combos and reduce the errors
