Our boys looked deadly in the first half but you could see the complacency kick in once we went up 26-10. I was a little worried but thankfully they held on. I didn't feel too excited at full time. I'm expecting this now and I guess that is a good thing. Got to enjoy the good times while they are here though.

I was actually glad that fergo was playing instead of the winger initially named, joseph manu. He's looked decent in the couple of games he's played in first grade.

FFS just ignore him.

Disagree. Unleash on the ****wit. Saves fighting each other and we provide a community service because I figure every minute he's here pissing into the wind he's not out hitting on sweating cab drivers or whatever it is he does.

yeah i was kinda the same. i was getting pissed at the way we played but never thought we'd lose

There is just no signs of a losing mentality or giving up is there?

Looks at us after conceding a try. No heads down, Gal with the towl and pout. 13 blokes keen to go belt ****s, get the ball back with all the confidence they can square up on the scoreboard.

People talk of us usually dropping a game like that, or the luck has to run out. We're not flipping a coin and battling the averages, they're training and playing and working to achieve a result and if they keep that up there is no reason we need to worry about falling over.

Oi! That's my domain.

Agree we were always going to win tonight, but the defence was a little ragged which was concerning.

Sorry mate.

Few of the players looked really tired out there.

Would like us to give a few of them a week off.

Finally managed to watch the game. We were good in patches but incredibly frail in defence at times. We had the quality to put 20+ on them, but got complacent.

In the end it was too close for my liking... not to mention my heart. I could barely stand watching the last 20 minutes. Had to fast forward a couple of times out of frustration and... Oh hell, I know... I'm a wimp!

Up Up Cronulla.

On the Refs ...

- Penalties overall were 9-4 Roosters (3-3 in the first half and 6-1 in the second half). I agree that many were dumb penalties on the Sharks' behalf, but I thought that a few were poor calls by the refs. Specifically the Maloney one in the first minute (obvious milking from Pearce) and the "two man strip", and I reckon at least 1-2 of the ones in the second half were 50/50 but went with the Roosters because they had the run of play. My main issue was the lack of Sharks penalties in the second half. There were an equal amount of slow play the balls/holding down on that side of play that were ignored.
- I can't believe there was no penalty for Nu being tackled without the ball. That was ridiculous.
- IMO the bunker call were all correct. The Tupou one reminded me of the sort of try that was being awarded in 2013, but they have been pretty consistent with the interpretation those ones in the last few seasons.
- I also agree with the obstruction penalty against the Sharks in the second half
- Mitchell's pass for Tupou's try was about 3m forward.

This game shows what happens when you piggy-back teams out of their own end all night. Despite nearly equal position over the game the team was sapped. The strength of the Cronulla game is putting pressure on other teams inside their 30m. There was little or no opportunity to do this in the second half because of penalties (deserved or otherwise).

I thought this too, but not a mention was made by the commentary team, in fact they referred to it as a brilliant pass!

That pass to Toops was flat at best but Birds try was from a more obvious forward pass - we have gotten away with plenty of them of late

It's not just the Sharks, I have no doubt that refs try to even up games. Whether consciously or subconsciously - it happens.

Either way I'd rather it didn't occur. If a team is bad enough to get flogged they should get flogged.
