I can understand a one off bad call. It happens. What frustrates me is clear unwarranted trends. Like a refusal to penalise off-side or laying on the tackle too long.

We didn’t get a lot of the rub of the green from the ref. Even fox commentators said we were losing all the 50/50 calls
But there was a set in second half I reckon 4 of the tackles we could have been giving a six again, but no whistle. Then like tackle two for them he blows one, that really **** me off

There was also two times that an eel who wasn’t involved in the tackle came in late after tackle complete and just pushed down on their player making the tackle. Was Niukore once possibly both. I really hate that refs don’t blow those as a flop or 6 again.

Sometimes you see a ref get pissed off early at a team/player getting offside or slowing the play the ball down and bare the grudge the whole game. Feels like that happened to us, to an extent. But it's not the refs fault we gave up soft tries on our line. Our defence still let us down.

Not that it really cost us but we ****ed our challenge again. I know we got the first one right, but using it again on a 50/50 reasonably early wasn't smart.

Yeah it's not like we should have been the clear winners and the ref ****ed us, it was a super tight contest and from my biased perspective (but also the perspective of fox commentators) eels got enough little bumps by the ref to push them home, thanks to our bad goal kicking

He looked pissed when we won our challenge. The next set parra gets he helps them get out of there end with a 10m penalty.

Might have to head over to the tin foil hat thread.

The ref was annoyed with Moylan repeatedly being off-side and told Graham that this was the third and last time, and the next one would be 10 in the bin. So yes, he was watching us and looking for the next infringement.

Moylan was a liability and gave the impression that he couldn't run at pace. When he took the intercept pass he looked like he shat himself when he saw the big gap in front of him and he was only interested in finding someone to offload the ball to. Bomber shouldn't feel any loyalty towards him and I agree with the snowman in that he no longer has a place in our team

I was also super annoyed at Moylan being offside repeatedly but the one where he was a 6cm in front of the kicker (and one of our most onside players) seems very different to the other two, technically the same offence but I don't know if the ref should be counting it the same

In regards to Moylans ''offisde'' on that kick, why is it that in defense your back foot is all that is required to be back the 10m, but in attack its your front foot that has to be behind the kicker?

I never really thought about it but someone in the other forums mentioned it and I found it interesting.

That's what I was wondering. If you have your back foot on your goal line you're considered on side. Perplexing.

Yeah it's a bit odd but practically it makes sense
In defence need to be 10m back... getting one foot 10m back achieves that like one foot on the sideline is out, one foot in goal is in goal, one foot on the ground when taking a catch is on the ground (if you're Billy Slater you can then use the other one to kick people)
On a kick you need both to be behind the ball because in rugby league in offence you need to be behind the ball a lot and it is your feet that are used to determine where you are on the field so they both need to show you are behind the kick

So even if your foot is off the ground, it still needs to be behind the kicker. I don't remember it ever being ruled that way

Still seething over this game. We were clearly the better team. Someone else thought otherwise

So am I.. we were the better team. We would be 5th right now in a pretty solid position. Those missed conversions just topped it off

Hey guys, I was there yesterday and figured I'd drop a few points here that I took away from the game.

1.Offsides - penalty count should've been 20-20 everyone was offside the entire game

2. Ruck infringements - this really hurt to watch live, seeing a six again call for laying on the ruck and seeing the opposition lie on top for nearly twice as long as points with nothing was tough

3. The field - the drainage at Kogarah is stuffed, there was probably more water on the field than the Sharknado game from a few years ago because it wasnt draining anywhere

4. No Try - Ronaldo was onside, that is all

5. Game plan - we tried to play outside way too much, we were cutting them to shreds on the edge but there was no traction for our outside backs, needed to play them through the middle, they were as tired as we were and the opportunity was there

That's all I've got for now, if I think of anything else I'll drop it here, any questions lads?

From spectators point of view the 50/50 one was a tough one but winning it would have been pretty big in helping us pile on the pressure to start the game.
Win it and we get the ball back attacking them, lose it and the only negative is lose the challenge. Think Wade took a punt on a 50/50 with a low risk high reward which if that was along his line of thinking I don't mind it.
