Casualty ward now has Hunt to return round 1-2 and Talakai 1-3. Great to see we will be getting players back a bit sooner than originally expected. Will definitely help us start the season well.

I am starting to think our best side will have Talaki playing right 2nd row.

Good news on Hunt. I always thought calls he'd be out half the year or the entire were a bit dramatic.

yeah I expect or hope Talakai takes that right spot, but they might use him off the bench and give Nikora some games.

really? andre roberson had the exact same injury and missed 22 months, a ufc fighter got it as well and missed 28 months

patella tendon is the worst thing you can do to your knee

NRL Physio had recovery at 6 to 9 months. He'll be bang on 6 months pretty much.

People recovery differently. Perhaps those two examples are more outliers and looks like Roberson was eyeing a 9 month return but had other things set him back, not just patella injury but a **** run of other things going on.

"Roberson ruptured his patellar tendon in his left knee in January 2018 while elevating to catch a lob on a backdoor cut. His initial timetable had him set to return in November 2018, but he had a setback when a loose suture caused irritation and required an additional surgery. He was progressing toward a return six weeks later, but then had another setback, suffering an avulsion fracture in his knee after coming down from a jump. Following the second setback, which included a timetable of six weeks, Roberson made progress toward a return but never got back on the court that season."

Anyway ....I'm sure we can all agree it's great news he's back this early, I'm sure the club isn't rushing him back.

Round 1 is now just 12 days away so I thought I'd get the Round 1 chat started.

The old enemy the Dragons are up first - home game for them.

Really need to put them to the sword in this one, they are not going to be feeling too good after the Charity Shield but it is a local derby so they will get themselves up for it I'm sure.

I'm reasonably confident we can get the job done, Round 1 wins haven't come to us all that often so it'd be great to get a good start on the board.

Absolutely terrible timeslot for a local derby, the NRL have well and truly ****ed up here.

Cos the nrl havent ever given a **** about game day attendance cos its now a tv game

Derby should be a month in and a sunday arvo 4pm game.

its great news, but it would be a miracle for him to not have set backs either

i think he will definitely need to come through cup to see how the knee goes.

We're probably in a position assuming Tolman and Rudolf are fit to not need to rush him either.

Wilton? He started 2019 in 20’s, and when he came to the Jets he played mostly off the bench to start the year. He was starting by round 8 or so, but they put him back on the bench later in the year because Soro came back down.

Talakai rarely played off the bench. He was their best player. He did miss some time injured late in the year though so may have come back in to the side via the bench.

Maybe it was starting in 20s and then a little with Jets mid season I was thinking of.

Talakai did rarely play off bench until Sorensen and Bukuya came along. Was bench in both GFs.
Talakai did look good that season but wasn’t sure if he could have same impact in NRL... turns out he can!

I'm actually hanging out the most to see Tolman run out for us - not because he's individually a flash or exciting player but just to see what effect overall it has on our teams attitude and defense

The pack has also needed a workhorse since Gal retired

I'm not too fussed with it being round 1 but it should 100% be 4pm on a Sunday arvo.

In regards to game attendance....

Round one youd expect a good crowd anyway for people excited bout the new season.

Later rounds big crowd cos of derby

The good thing is that it’s not our “Home” game so it’s the dragons that miss out on the ticket and beverage revenue.
Mind you rnd 11 6:00 pm Friday night is the return match.
Hopefully a better time slot for pps to get to the ground???

Mate 6pm Friday is horrible. Another ludicrous timeslot for a derby.

Especially at kogarah

The nrl are out of touch sith what fans want. They are still buckling to the networks in regards to the draw.

Careful planning needs to be made to allow for certain games to be played at the right times in order to boost attendance.
