I’m that ****ing nervous. I’ve got a ticket booked from Merimbula to Sydney next Saturday. Got grand final tickets on reserve. If we lose Friday looks like ill add the extra leg and keep going from Sydney back to the Gold Coast.

But I believe we can win this but so fingers crossed.

I know our boys are going to give their best in this game but I can’t shake the feeling that Melbourne are going to get us with a bounce of the ball, a lucky play or a 50/50 decision going their way at a critical time.

Sharks are paying 3 bucks something to win, we should be more like 6 bucks.

No way the NRL lets us win.

For once it'll actually be for the good of the game if we win.

What is the point of all these Melbourne grand finals?

Boring, nothing changes.

It'll be good for a Channel 9/QLD circle jerk over Billy but nothing else.

The game needs a Sydney GF with real clubs.

Melbourne 30+

Because the NRL are not in touch with the fans. They believe we want to see slater in another grand final when in actual fact most people really do not.

Both teams have almost identical completion & error rates, score the same amount of tries, make similar number of tackles & give away exactly the same amount of penalties on average per game according to the stats.
On paper it should be very close. I have that same sinking feeling that Chad & ILLmac have. I think we will get hammered with penalties which will make it almost impossible to win.
**** I hope I am wrong..

Melbourne Storm already preparing their grand final corporate suites
SEPTEMBER 19, 2018
The Melbourne Storm are preparing to feature in another grand final after placing a ‘hold’ on corporate suites at ANZ Stadium worth almost $100,000.

Firm $2.65 premiership-favourites with the TAB, the Storm are attempting to become the first NRL team in 24 years to win back-to-back titles.

They are also aiming to appear in a third-straight grand final.

Craig Bellamy’s men need to overcome an injury-plagued Cronulla in Friday night’s preliminary final at AAMI Park to secure their spot in the grand final on September 30.

And clearly the reigning premiers believe they will usurp the Sharks, with The Daily Telegraph learning that from the four clubs remaining in the premiership race, only Melbourne have asked to keep three suites worth $28,000 each aside for the grand final.

Each of the premium private suites on the plush corporate level of ANZ Stadium caters for 20 people and includes a gourmet food and beverage menu.

An identical invitation to place a hold on corporate suites was sent to fellow preliminary finalists Cronulla, the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Each of the three Sydney clubs have confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that they had politely declined the offer — until after their respective Friday and Saturday night matches.

There is no danger that each of the three clubs will miss out on securing private seating for their corporate clients and commercial partners.

With 10 days remaining until the biggest day on the rugby league calendar, The Daily Telegraph has learned there remains several ANZ Stadium suites still available.

Storm CEO David Donaghy simply laughed when asked if his club’s ‘hold’ on each of the three suites was a sign of cockiness, or simply strategic planning.

“We’re following the exact same path as we have the last three years,’’ Donaghy said.

“Like all good clubs at this point should have, you have a plan A and a plan B and then you wait to see where you land on Friday night, which plan you enact.

“It’s merely placing them on hold and it’s the same invitation which is made to Cronulla, the Roosters and South Sydney.

“We’re not getting ahead of ourselves, we of course know what is at stake and Friday night is our focus.’’

According to the bookies, Friday night’s AAMI Park preliminary final showdown is considered Melbourne’s to lose.

The Storm are $1.36 favourites to beat a Cronulla ($3.20) side that will be without co-captain Wade Graham (knee) and with fellow captain Paul Gallen (shoulder) long odds to play.

The two clubs share a fierce rivalry which has festered ever since the Sharks’ drought-breaking premiership win over the Storm in the 2016 grand final.

Both clubs will put the finishing touches to their preparation at their respective captain’s run on Thursday.

The Sharks will fly to Melbourne on Thursday afternoon with a willingness to give Gallen up until kick-off to prove his fitness.

Sharks forward Luke Lewis, who is expected to be named captain if Gallen is ruled out, said he remained confident of causing an upset even if their inspirational leader was ruled out.

“The good thing is, whoever steps in for our side, won’t be overawed by the occasion,’’ Lewis said.

“We’ve proven that as a club for a number of years now, that we have the depth to fill in and get the job done.

“These games don’t come around too often, so we’ll be enjoying the moment and hopefully we’re on our way to another grand final at full-time.’’
