You're saying we need more of a game manager, why on earth would you put Atkinson there?
He's the other option to Moylan, until Dykes returns. I dont rate Tricky as a 6. But the option of putting Atkinson at 6 is if Moylan wasnt available though, would like to see how he goes at some stage

But haven't you been saying Nicho needs help managing games? I would have thought Trindall is a far better option in that regard over Atkinson.

Truth is anyone who partners Nicho is going to be second fiddle and trying to compliment him regardless of shirt number.

If Trindall is playing drastically different in 7 than he would in 6 chances are he’s cramping Hynes.

Very few halves partnerships can smoothly pair together in interchanging roles like Hynes and Moylan and it seems to work well for Hynes. That’s according to an actual guy who has played NRL halfback, Sam Williams. Not the greatest half of all time for sure but presumably has some idea.

I dont rate Trindall at 6, so i would like to see how Atkinson goes if Moylan was unavailable 🤷‍♂️

I'd probably also presume that the Sharks current NRL coach when he was quoted in this very thing less than two weeks ago has some idea...

"(Moylan) gives himself to the team," Fitzgibbon said.

"He sacrifices some parts of his game to make sure Nicho can do what he has to do.

"It's a team thing... There are a lot of moving parts to make sure your team plays well.

"You need your teammates to perform to get the job done in the clutch moments."

How has Atkinson been going defensively for the Jets? Very comparable player to Metcalf from what I saw in Q Cup. Raw speed and attacking ability, but struggled defensively at times.
not the best, not the worst. one on one i dont think he would be any worse than moylan. seems to read the play better than most.

also have to take into account that both jets second rowers are nsw cup level at best

i would say that he is a more complete player than metcalf and he has a passing and kicking game

On Saturday I was listening to 2GB and one of those clowns said Nicho is the best player in the NRL. Things like that and his name being seriously bounced around for Origin creates a fair bit of pressure on the kid. Add to that his Mum was in court Monday and the result was he has offered that she live with him 'forever' is a fair bit of weight on the kids shoulders. Now I get why he was so devastated in the press conference had a bit on his mind on top of the loss.

from watching cup this wouldnt be the case, of the two games tricky played he was really involved in one and non existant in the other

Seems like a lot of just you think he’d be better at it which unfortunately I won’t personally take as evidence.

Moylan has played a decade in the NRL as a spine player, you don’t think he could learn more about running an NRL team in that time than trindall learnt playing as a teenager wearing a 7 because he was the best player in the randomarse club he played for as a teen?

Also the suggestion he can’t learn or develop anything being an older player is also a stretch. Benji Marshall for example is a good example of someone who was very much one style of footballer but managed to change up what he delivered.

Trindall might be a better game manager than Moylan. He might not be. I’m still not convinced we can claim that he is as fact.
Can Moylan start showing some of this game manager experience he has then?

I’ve been rooting for 16 years, still doesn’t make me any good at it.
