He’s not.

He just has an extremely hard job playing behind a pack who can’t match it against the better teams and playing with a team who can’t hold the ball.

He’s the marquee man in the team and wears the jersey of the most important position, so the criticism is part of the position description, but how some of us can’t see that he’s trying to drag a team uphill is beyond me.

Especially considering the fresh criticism is after a game where we had 40% of the ball, only 10 tackles inside the opposition 20m and completed at 66%.

We can all see it. It begins and ends with the forwards. People keep talking about game management? What game is there to manage when you are literally chasing points every week.

The biggest issue is Nichos confidence and the things that put him into his shell. A million dollar man should be more mentally capable

Fair call.

Confidence since origin but, True, he needs to get over his hiccup.

If you don’t mind me asking, what specifically over the last few weeks has showed Nicho is down on confidence?

Whether it's down on confidence or just poor form but things I have noticed:

1. Lacking game management (kicking 10 to 20m less distance than usual, doing short kicks before halfway line when outside backs aren't expecting)

2. Fumbled some kicks leading to tries

3. Sprinting out of line in defence, resulting in tries

4. Getting tackled on 4th tackle (again lack of game management)

5. Some simple drop balls.

I think it was the tape over the NRL logo... He's obviously embarrassed to claim to be a rugby league player atm.

Probably a good idea , give him a break from being the main playmaker and hopefully get some sparks back. He is easily the best fb option we have available
Might be a way to get Tricky into the game as well... is Nicho / Moylan / Trindall better then Tracey / Trindall / Nìcho?

Interestingly, Hindmarsh (on Sunday night footy) mentioned Nicho and that whilst he is still “busting a gut every week, he just seems like he is lacking some confidence since origin”.

Just interesting that it was raised.

Hynes is a 5-8, just put Trindall at 7 and give him game management duties and allow them to play their traditional roles. Hope they put Atkinson at fullback, still going to need Tracey as cover for centre and wing, remainder of season.

Or Moylan returns🤔 i do prefer Moylan and Trindall pairing, look more natural playing their prefered roles

Moylan and Trindall worked because Moylan wasn’t the halfback and wasn’t trying to get his hands on the ball all the time it will also mean Tracey stays away from the team in good ball plays which is a plus because his ball playing at fullback is bad bad

Tricky to Moylan to Hynes

Think it’s probably the best thing we could do

If that happens we would have a left edge of Wade/ Moylan/ Treacey. Assuming Wade keeps his spot. Maybe in that set up Moylans defence isn’t so bad?

It also might help Hynes return to the halves next year, having played at the back for a bunch of games.
