Why isn't it changing anytime soon? If Fitz can't see Hynes is more of a Munster style player then we're not competing with the big boys for a while (yes I know we have more problems than just this).

Give him some bloody help.
I don't think it'll change because...
He's been backed to take control and touch the ball as much as possible. Not because Moylan is there (or because Trindall isn't) but because the coach thinks it's best that he does.

My thoughts about Hynes have been that he can get lost in games, and when he does we're pretty rooted. He doesn't have the game management experience the top halves have and it shows... hopefully he's a fast learner.

So the thinking is that Nicho would play different and be less involved alongside a different halves partner... I don't see it. He's been backed to take control and touch the ball as much as possible. Not because Moylan is there (or because Trindall isn't) but because the coach thinks it's best that he does. That ain't changing anytime soon. Whoever his halves partner is will play second fiddle.
Hynes would be out there thinking ‘oh **** is that the Braydon Trindall over on the other side of the field!? I better throw a half decent pass to Talakai then!”

He needs to play with somebody who can control the game more. I don't care about the number on there back so to speak. Trindall I think is perfect for it. Moylan missed 10 bloody tackles today.
What does missed tackles have to do with a half who can control a game more? Can't control **** without the ball.

To be honest, a lot of pressure is on him Atm, mentally and emotionally.
this could range pressure to perform, pressure to make nsw team, home pressure i.e family then media.
I hope there is things in place to make sure he is looked after.

This is why you need a game manager and a genuine 7, Hynes is a 6, its too much pressure for Hynes when we face the top teams, gets frantic and tries to do too much, it was a concern last year. If Fitz is going to persist with this halves combo and not give Trindall a shot over Moylan, might aswell try and get Benny Hunt if he becomes free. I also suspect they might look at Brooksy now that he said he wants to move on from the tigers😅
I'd be happy with Brooks. I think he may have signed for Dogs though.

Since his mum got released he’s been shithouse and doesn’t seem like he wants to be out there.

Coincides with origin too - hopefully it’s that as after not being selected this time he should be able to move past it

Was just reading he has been dropped from origin and Moses has the gig and Robson off the bench. Fittler is an idiot. Seriously. I am not saying Hynes should be picked, but the. Why pick him first game for. The guy is a dead set spud.

It never really made sense to have him in the side in the first place. Good PR was all... Until the loss. That was bad PR.

Hynes is a 6 in that team, or he shouldn’t have been picked at all. He isn’t a utility.

Hope Hynes also understands that, and doesn’t let it knock his confidence.
Totally agree mate, not saying he should have been picked for game 2.

But to pick him game 1 off the bench to then put him on at centre with 10 mins to go while NSW were ahead (when he could’ve put Burton on), then dropping him altogether for game 2..

Anyway good news for us I guess

Fitler has well and truly ****ed him over
While Fittler doesnt have to justify his selections, i think its pretty clear why hes gone this way.

1. Cleary (a game manager) is injured, Hynes isnt a good intant replacement for that with 8 days preperation over someone like Moses or Reynolds
2. Luai wasnt poor in game 1 nor has he been since, hate the bloke, but he didnt deserve to be dropped just because cleary is out. If the injury was to Luai, its Cleary with one of Nicho, Walker or Burton for sure.

Using nicho as a bench utility was a silly idea really, especially since what he trained in camp for he wasnt able to go do, given he came on for the always-injured Turbo at centre. Burton probably would have suited the bench role better than Nicho.

I dont think Nichos been overlooked out of some disrespect, but for this game, and the player thats out, he wasnt the right man to put in without making other unnecessary changes around him too

I was more referring to game 1

Was a stupid selection, but that being said, Fittlers intention was never for him to come on at centre.
Not sure what his intention was mate, didn’t look like he was planning on using him at all.

Also with turbo going down HIA it activated 18th man so he could have put Burton on (at least he has actually played centre)

Not having a go at you bud this narrative that Luai wasn’t poor in game one is such a fallacy.

He delivered a short ball for a try and drew and passed for another, that was the extent of his good qualities in game one.

The team was an unorganised shambles in game one, as one of the halves that is his responsibility. His defence continued to be poor also.

Having a hand in two tries shouldn’t mask all the other red flags from that game.
