Anyway at least we can relax this year......its over

nobody there to calm him down, brailey should have gone a way from him after first stuff up for a couple of sets. real lack of leaderdhip on the field. dale offers none, does just as much dumb **** as the next person.

its like he makes everyone a headless chook when he plays the ways he did today

Jesus that was a shocking performance. Trying to do too much against **** teams might work but not against the better teams.

The sooner we have a proper halfback in the team, the better. If only we had one.

A proper half back is still going to be playing behind the same beaten pack.

He is a proper halfback though, best in the game apparently.
I got no problems calling him a proper halfback... inexperienced one sure, but that doesn't make him "not proper".

I don't think I'd see too many complaints about Hughes' performance tonight... just cos he's not your traditional half back, doesn't make him not a proper one.

I do, he's not a halfback. Doesn't have the game management or awareness.

Not sure what you mean about Hughes. Put him next to Nicho and Nicho goes to another level.

So experience does nothing for game management or awareness?

And Hughes was a fullback/five eighth a long time before he was a halfback (which is the knock on Nicho).

I know Hughes's background.

Of course experience is important. Hynes is comparable to Munster, give him a proper halfback and watch him go up a level

Just to add to this, our proper halfback was responsible for turning the ball over multiple times because he tries to do too much.
He needs to play with somebody who can control the game more. I don't care about the number on there back so to speak. Trindall I think is perfect for it. Moylan missed 10 bloody tackles today.

So the thinking is that Nicho would play different and be less involved alongside a different halves partner... I don't see it. He's been backed to take control and touch the ball as much as possible. Not because Moylan is there (or because Trindall isn't) but because the coach thinks it's best that he does. That ain't changing anytime soon. Whoever his halves partner is will play second fiddle.

Why isn't it changing anytime soon? If Fitz can't see Hynes is more of a Munster style player then we're not competing with the big boys for a while (yes I know we have more problems than just this).

Give him some bloody help.

This is why you need a game manager and a genuine 7, Hynes is a 6, its too much pressure for Hynes when we face the top teams, gets frantic and tries to do too much, it was a concern last year. If Fitz is going to persist with this halves combo and not give Trindall a shot over Moylan, might aswell try and get Benny Hunt if he becomes free. I also suspect they might look at Brooksy now that he said he wants to move on from the tigers😅
