Well it must to him cause he took it and altough he maybe worth it, we couldn't fit him in the piece.

De Gois is a tough nut but not very creative, I think most ppl seem to overestimate his worth to a team.
more creative than anyone we have atm and one of our best all last season and the knights best so far this season

180k over 3 seasons is only 60k a season, basically the minumum wage of the nrl
and its not what hes on either

To go from top 4 contenders to wooden spoon contenders, someone needs to be sacked thats for sure.

If we did sack Ricky, Who would be next in line to replace him? I dont think any coach in their right mind would even think of coming to our club.

I say stick with Rickyhe has been a better coach than the previous 2 coaches we have had.

Definetly ricky has been a better coach than Raper and Anderson, but now the results arent showing and because were losing people wont him gone from the club. A bit early to say he should be sacked now.

For goodness sake, let's not sack another coach! He's not the one dropping the ball or missing tackles after all.

sources tell me he is. And sources real close to the matter. I never said I didn't want De Gois but i doubt he is the piece missing in our puzzle. There are about 10 MAIN reasons why we are losing. Even before a ball was kicked this yr I knew the sharks would struggle for 10 rounds but didn't think we would be 1-6.

I think some of you have gone off a bit early we dont need to sack Ricky at all.
Just looking at how we have played this year, we all agree not great, but the major concern I see is our defence we are letting in far to many points compared to last year, if our defence was at level par this year to last years we would of won both our last games.
As for our attack yes we all agree it is not great at the moment, but we are not far of posting some good numbers, as all our new players are starting to gel now and it is starting to show.
As for the DeGois matter yes it is sad to see him playing well for the knights, but if Ricky plays Seu and Caine together I feel that is going to be exciting to watch and very dangerous.
So lay of Sticky as I think we maybe on the verge of a good winning streak

The coach isn't dropping the ball, missing tackles, giving away penalties and knocking on over the tryline. He has got them close to a win on many occasions this year but the team, through errors, officials, bounce of the ball and panic, haven't got the points.

Ricky is coaching fine this year. Wait until half way through before making these massive decisions.

The Sharks are in the middle of a period of reasonable stability and we need to build on that, not chop the coach chasing a premiership.

There are always calls for coaches to be sacked if they have an awful start to the season its part of the job of being a coach if you dont perform people will call for you to get sacked. Just wait and see how we finish the season if we make the finals you'll look back and think i cant believe we wanted to sack ricky.
Its only round 7!

This is what I hate about the Sharks. Whenever times get tough the call goes out to sack the coach. Then we start again and it takes five years to rebuild and then we hit a rough patch again and the calls go out again.

When things are rotten, the more you panic the worse things get.

Ricky is a very good coach and right now I wouldn't want anyone else. He has his faults and he knows that. Look at how he's changed his temperament in recent years. I'm betting he knows the current problem is his recruitment and I'd be amazed if he doesn't do something about that for 2010.

Phil Gould's column in the Sun Herald today just proves to me that it's easy to kick someone when they're down. He should look closer to home because Brad Fittler and the Roosters are going just as bad as us. Strangely, Phil Gould didn't say anything last year when we were on top of the comp. It must have killed him to see the Sharks and Ricky riding high.

You can't have high player turnover at a club -- and injuries - and expect things to click. 2009 is our year from hell. Every club has one. If we stick solid and recruit well, 2010 will be a very different story.

That is typical phil gould fashion bagging people out when there down. Last year he never bagged us but praised us, now that we are losing he's going bag us and bring up again this hatred towards ricky.

No more sacked coaches. Rediculous talk! Are We are going down old paths? As we all know we have at least 5 top line players from last yr gone/out- thats the problem.Look at Manly?
Hypothetically though, of all the "experts" i hear, the one i listen to who makes the most sense about the modern game, is Laurrie Daley. He would make a good coach once he moves on from City/Country is it?

i reckon even GAL is not happy
Gallen is not happy because we are losing not because of any perceived wekaness in Ricky's coaching. Ricky isn't making simple mistakes on the field that are costing us games mate. I know you are upset but have some faith. We will come good. We scored more points last game than we had in any game all year. We have the potential, we have a great coach (even if you don't think so) and if we support our team rather than bag the crap out of them we will start to see results.

we haven't had a decent coach since John Lang,

Yes we have.

Chris Anderson won premierships at Canterbury and Melbourne.
Stuart Raper had success in England and in lower grades in Australia.
Ricky Stuart won a premiership at the Roosters.

Bad coaches don’t have these types of records

Yep, that's right.

Ever since we got rid of John Lang, we've hired coaches with great track records who have got halfway through implementing their changes and then been sacked. So basically we are just in a constant rebuilding phase.

The salary cap will mean that teams will always be going up and down the ladder from year to year. Last year Des Hasler was a great coach. Is he now a bad coach this year because the eagles haven't been as successful? I don’t think so..

I think we should stick with Ricky. We definitely should not sack him, we can’t afford it, and he will be successful again. It is very frustrating watching us play at the moment, but sacking Ricky would just be a knee jerk reaction. Have patience.

On another note, if Ricky does happen to go, he should only be replaced with Johnny Lang.

Absolutely. But it would be madness to sack Ricky. Then again our board has really bad form on these things.
