No Nene is a winger, that must be someone else.

That’s what Phil Sami will be thinking if Nene gets a run this weekend.

I did a double take when I first saw that picture too. He’s a monster.

Am I the only who thinks a few weeks training with us & @ NRL level Nene wouldn’t be nowhere near ready for NRL

Apparently he came to the club in really good shape.

I think the wait has been more about getting him around the boys, making sure his head is in a good place and getting all the testing done

It's not like he hasn't played first grade before, plus he's a winger not a middle forward.

Only way he's really going to get match fit is by playing. If he's gassed he can very easily have a breather out on the wing

In interview on Sharks site Moyza says Nene came to the club in good nick and has been impressive at training
Says good headache for Bomber to have with Bryson coming in playing well, Nene, and Ronnie to come back too

Bryons interview says he's not sure how good Nene's fitness is, he's been out for quite a while so he's working hard on his fitness and we'll see how he fits in to it all in a few weeks

Funny how the guy in direct opposition to him doesn't think he's ready yet

I'd go so far as to say if we lost Katoa now, our attack would flatline to pre-covid levels.

It'd be like back when SJ and Nikora were figured out, or when Chad to Wade was figured out...

Katoa will stay "relevant" and dangerous as he is near impossible to figure out!
Good position for us!

I certainly hope we aren't building too much hype around Nene. I personally haven't documented his career/life thus far. so don't know much about him, I just remember him playing for the dragons

ok he is a beast! I hope he proves himself.

competition in the backs could be healthy for us.

good position to be in, its a shame there is no nsw cup this year

Would love to know what’s stopping clubs getting together and organising reserves exhibition games almost every week. Hell you could just have a reserves game played before first grade featuring the reserves teams of the two clubs playing first grade every week. Surely it can be done.

Couple teams have already had games I believe.

I'd assume we are working on but perhaps haven't been able to suss something around schedules and player availability. If we ran something this Sunday who could we play for us (assuming 1-17)?

1. Kennedy
2. Nene
3. Ferris
4.
5. Hiroti
6. Tracey/Williams
7. Trindall
8. Vasquez?
9. Paterson
10. Carr/Milne
11. Sorensen
12. Wilton
13. Magoulias

Bench... the couple guys not starting and maybe some randoms?

Bryson missed the chance to mention how Nene didn't debut for Cronulla either haha

If Katoa is ever injured, dropped or signed to another club league will be dead to me anyway. Prob destroy my love of sport entirely actually

This will be happening between the Titans and the Sharks before the first grade game I just read. Great news.

Interesting we've been able to get it to go ahead for an interstate game
Probably the first week since it's been practical we have been able to work something out, especially given Nene and Goodwin have only just joined the team. Before that with Ronnie injured we probably didn't have enough backs.

With Sami and Proctor now out for them they'll be running real thin now though

Good stuff. The fringe blokes must be chomping at the bit to rip into some opposition.
