Torana had 4 doors - Monaro didn't.
a lot of the Falcons were 2 doors as well, I guess they squeezed the family in the front passenger side

I didn't see the word 'My', you're a lucky bastard, bet it went like a shower of ****
It rocked, but in those days we used to tweak every ounce of horsepower.
The amount of time I spent under that car replacing clutches, gearboxes & millions of tailshaft universals (I kept crushing the roller bearings inside the caps) was horrendous.
Torana had 4 doors - Monaro didn't.
I need to correct that - the original torana's were 4 door, but they did make 2 doors as well.
I tell you something though - the last run of those (only 150 made) - would destroy a heap of the performance sedans on the road today.
Mercedes and Nissan are in next year aren't they?
heard Nissan are putting in maximas. heard a rumour Mazda could also be inNissan are entering skylines I think. Blah haven't heard Mercedes though

Been a while since I've followed the car racing closely. Is there still a requirement for a certain amount of the car models being sold in Australia before they can qualify?

Hey guys, as a bit of a muscle car maniac, I would just like to clarify this issue. All Torana's came as either a two door coupe or four door sedan. However, they all had a full size back seat (with reduced leg room) so they were still a "family car".
In their racing history, both two door and foor door versions were raced. The early Torana XU1's were a two door coupe. Then the later model SLR5000 were raced as a four door sedan. They were also raced as the A9X two door coupe.
As for next years series, both Mercedes and Nissan will enter the competition. The Mercs will be based on the AMG E Class sedan and Nissan will be based on the American Altima sedan with a 5.0 litre Nissan production engine, currently used in the Patrol.
Should make for some interesting days ahead for Holden and Ford. Nissan and Merc will be bringing some serious technology to the table with their engines much more advanced than the old pushrod V8 bangers Holden and Ford currently use.
All the cars will have a five litre V8 as standard but the technology will be the difference.
There were 4 door Monaro's, from the HQ eara
I think it will still be the ford and Holden going at it with Holden obviously the better team + carI don't know how it will go, I guess we'll have to see.
I just hope we don't see total dominance by one team
I don't count 4 doors as real Monaros lol.
I hear ya
did you have your mullet then too?My Munro was the best - the HT was the first to have the 350 Chev in it.
