We fly out to Sydney today, to drive up to Bathurst in the morning, just a little excited!!! Lowndsey, of course, is the sentimental favourite.

We certainly had an adventure, spending 4 days at Bathurst. We wont get to see Lowndsy again at Barbagallos, so we picked a great year to go.
Did all the touristy things including a helicopter ride over the mountain. The 888 Engineering lads cooked a us a bbq on the Sat...

Lowndesy, Giz and JDub doing the 12 hr in Jan/Feb... would love to be there for that.

..... And Frosty driving a Holden in 2019, for Preston Hire Racing - never thought I see the day.

Whincup and Lowndes out early. Whincup tried to take Mostert on the outside of turn 3 and binned it into the wall, one of the worst places to try that. As a five time winner Whincup should of really known better, brain dead moment by him.

That Kosteki dude was probably annoying Whincup as much as he was annoying me, but hey, it couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

As a RBHRT fan, I was both gobsmacked and not surprised at JDub trying to win it on the 33rd lap. Bit like League, pull off something near impossible and you're a hero, if it turns to **** you're a ****wit. No excuse for that **** though. Felt for Lowndesy, the only Enduro all year and that was the day done.

Absolutely rapt for Giz and GT, were leading at the halfway point and pushed on. I stood in front of the tv for the last 40 laps, I was a bit teary when they got the checkered flag. Cam Waters just kept improving all year, well earned 2nd with Will. Also very happy for Chaz and Luff in 3rd, hoping Chaz will have a steller year again, like 2015 before he rekted himself on the mountain.

Congrats to Scotty Mc for taking the championship, always the Man to beat this year. Looking forward to see how he goes in Indy car next week.

Meanwhile, a certain Sharks tragic / Erebus / SF member fan has been quiet on facebook...

Hey Jenny. I’m hearing the opening round will be at Bathurst next season.
Will it be the same without the Holden “commodore” will the Holden fans
Still follow the sport?

Wrong race. The Bathurst 12 hour will be early next year, that’s not a V8 Supercar race. That race features cars from all over the world. Lambos, McLarens, Ferrari’s, Porsche’s, Vipers, hell even Minis Coupes some years. It’s a much better race to go watch in my opinion. The V8’s race will take part during its traditional October weekend. Holden Commodores will be replaced by Chevrolet Cameros, similar to how the Mustangs replaces the Falcons a few years ago. Rumours that a few more car companies will be entering the championship are doing the rounds. Toyota Supras and Kia Stingers are two that’s been put forward.

Teams will still run Commodores in 2021, then Camaros in 2022. They wont have factory backing so they'll drop the Holden name.

It has to evolve or die. I'm a relative newcomer to Supercars, only been following for about 10 yrs and even I've witnessed a few big changes.

You sure? I thought the Cameros were coming next year.

Yeah I'm sure. There will be no factory Holden team next year, but the ZBs will still run.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will join the Supercars Championship grid in 2022, under the category’s new Gen3 rule package.
With GM electing to shutdown Holden's operations this year, the current Commodores will race on in 2021, before the Gen3 Camaros debut the following season.

No worries Mate. Likely what Gando was referring to above... I was just reading, its expected that the 2021 opening Rd will be in NSW, possibly/probably Bathurst. Looking to replace the 2021 12 hr due to the international implications of Covid. Hubby and I were planning on making the trip to Darwin in 2021 for the Triple Crown, only time will tell I guess.

Ok thanks Jenni. Yeah I guess motor sport has to adapt to industry changes.
Must be devastating for the old old school Holden v Ford fans.
