Maloney gets isolated in defense and actually makes some good 1 on 1 tackles and sometimes feels he needs to hold the player down or infringe the ruck to buy his defense some time to reset. I don't like it but there is some logic behind it.
Lewis & Ennis just do stupid **** in the ruck for the sake of trying to force an error when it is not needed

We don't need all the niggle like in the days when we didn't have a strong team, refs are wise to it and so they should be. It also means when an opposition player legitimately drops the ball in a Sharks tackle the ref might be more inclined to interpret as a strip.

Yes agree Lewis and Ennis are starting to have to many penalties ... particularly late in the tackle count. Gotta change or it going to cost us a game.

Will retire at the end of 2016.

Didn't see it coming personally, definitely thought he'd take up his 2017 option.

Has been great for us and will be a big loss

Sharks hooker Michael Ennis to retire at end of 2016 NRL season

MICHAEL Ennis has dropped a bombshell on the Cronulla Sharks, announcing his retirement at the end of the 2016 season.

In the best form of his career, the 32-year-old Sharks hooker broke the news to his teammates during an emotional luncheon at midday today.

Ennis, who made his NRL debut with the Newcastle Knights in 2003, was expected to take up a one-year contract extension with Cronulla before retiring at the end of the 2017 season.

However, it’s understood Ennis has been mulling over the decision to retire for at least the past six weeks.

It all led to a meeting on Monday with his agent George Mimis and Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan, when the former NSW Origin hooker made the decision to call time on his career.

The desire to spend more time with his young family while pursuing a promising media career with Fox Sports were major factors in the decision.

In a wonderful career spanning 13-years, 263-first grade games and five clubs, including the Knights, Dragons, Broncos, Bulldogs and Sharks, Ennis will now chase a fairytale end to his career; a premiership ring with first-placed Cronulla.

Mick will be a superstar on tv/radio when you look at the amount of braindead wankers that are on every football show at the moment
