And perhaps postponing it isn’t that simple. Team might be doing a training a camp away or something.

Easy to criticise when you don’t know

Maybe? You seem to know it all, so what do you think? Or were you happy lining up for an hour and a half with three kids on a footpath?

In the ET Stand. Massive queue to get in. They should just use a booking system with free tickets
I like this idea. Have “sessions” over 2 days. Limit to a manageable number per session (someone with some good grey matter could work out ideal peeps per session)
Maybe 1-1.5 hrs long ?? with 10 mins break Eg: 8:00-9:00, 9:10 -10:10, 10:20-11:20, 11:30-12:30, players and coaches get a light lunch then resume from 1:00-2:00, 2:10-3:10 etc etc) finish around 6:00-7:00
1 full weekend to give to members wouldn’t be unreasonable.

They literally sent out an RSVP email where you fill in details?

Did you not get it ?

Fact a few people have said this suggests people didn’t a) get their emails or b) bother reading them and bother filling it out

Hard for the club to gauge numbers if people aren’t doing what the club asked and just rocking up
Yeah I didn’t explain well but I was referring to the big queue at 11am, and the fact it would take ages to verify all are members, when many may not have cards. Instead it would be better to have a ticket with a barcode/QR code that you can quickly scan to get in. That also ensures only people who’ve RSVPed get in

Edit: though I guess then it’s more difficult to verify membership status when booking the tickets. Never mind. Probably no easy solution

Tbh sounds like the best fix would have been make it a nice day in terms of weather so I don’t know why they didn’t just do that

Haha I don’t know where you live, but rain is part of life. Everyone can accept that. Not to mention the weather three days leading up to the event and the forecast.. not like they didn’t have time to come up with a better plan..

Well if it’s pissing down rain and windy and you’ve invited someone over to your place for a swim, what do you do? Postpone it or make other arrangements instead of a swim.. I don’t know, I could probably suggest 100 better ideas than lining everyone (mostly children) up along the footpath outside the stadium, as I’m sure others could also. Just face it, it was poorly organised.
And particularly when they threw a "dummy pass " to members on Friday via SMS & Email to say it is all under control

"This email is to advise you that tomorrow's Members Launch Event is proceeding as scheduled at Sharks Stadium. Contingency plans have also been put in place in the event of rain to ensure that you are able to get photographs with and autographs from our NRL and NRLW players in attendance."

I suggest that is why so many still turned up .

Or more than expected people arrive!

With players roving to mingle while they still ensure everyone gets all the autos they want.

Granted they have more space but we had zero issues at the recent Sixers fan day. Straight in at 2pm, players scattered around all over the place.

They only other way they could have done it IMO is to have held it at a local school hall (like what happens when you vote).

That way there's at least covered walkways and seating etc whilst waiting.

Could have even had some of the extended squads on the BBQ etc.

Could have but more appeal having it at our ground I reckon

Considerations like that could have been affected by number of EOIs too
