Can I ask what you'd be expecting from this type of membership and what you'd expect to pay?I wonder where they got that idea?
I (faintly) hope there's an option for people living abroad this year. Last time I checked (must have been 2 years ago) there wasn't any option for people who 1. lived overseas and 2. had no way of attending the games.
I know we're not exactly a priority marketing wise so I moved on immediately, but it'd be nice to see the option present itself (in a rather selfish way).
I haven't really thought thoroughly about it. Maybe last time I focused too much on the game tickets when I could have just bought any membership and thrown the tickets away. Seemed like a waste to me when I was just looking for an excuse to give the club a bit of money. Can I ask what you'd be expecting from this type of membership and what you'd expect to pay?
I'm in Perth and used to buy Interstate/Country Membership and just not use the tickets. This year I just bought a Sharks starter - basic members pack, and I just spent the $$ I used to spend on Membership, in the Sharks Store instead. I also buy a kids membership for my Grandson - Master Threenager loving the Reefy stuff.
Feels like it's gone up 10% every year though. For what you get, it's one of the worst value for money memberships in Australian sport. At this point I'm more driven to renew by not wanting to lose my seat rather than feeling like it's a good purchase. At 10 home games, it's $42-$57 a ticket. Most people end up missing a few and it's getting pretty steep. The pricing for the packages is up on this page:

Looks like a roughly 10% increase for the seat options. Understandable when there is a wait list
100% agree. And given the capacity issues it's renew at increased costs or miss out completely.Feels like it's gone up 10% every year though. At this point I'm more driven to renew by not wanting to lose my seat rather than feeling like it's a good purchase.
Yep I agree in a lot of ways, I guess though they probably could have lifted it 25% for next year and still sell out all the grandstand seats.Feels like it's gone up 10% every year though. I have a Parra mate who buys a season ticket for either 5 or 6 games, can't remember exactly, and he can go to whichever 5-6 games he wants. It's areal shame we don't have more seating because that's the kind of ticketed membership I'd 100% buy.Feels like it's gone up 10% every year though. They do have the buy back option now which I used for a few games and got $200 back for my two seats, think that was for only two games so pretty good return and doesn't sting as much when you can't go.Feels like it's gone up 10% every year though. Nice work, Chadley.I've never emailed the club before, but just sent through one with some of the following info and was interested in your thoughts.
Decline in member experience over the last decade:
Leagues Club - Once again we head into a season without a leagues club, and no capacity for members to expand their game-day experience on either side of the game.
Limited Capacity - A smaller crowd has severely impacted on the atmosphere at the ground.
Less games - Since the Jet's merger we've gone from 3 grades to 2 grades. Plus we've gone from 12 home games to 10.
Failing amenities - The state of the bathrooms at the ground are awful, and constant lines for beers and food make it not worth bothering.
Membership packs - Transition from a merch voucher that was actually useful to a package of plastic garbage that ends up in the bin.
Poor communication from the club - The lack of information around player availability, injury etc is well below what has come to be the norm at other sides.
Members getting screwed come finals - Any home final we've had has been a disaster for tickets with the 'members early release' not including all tickets for purchase. It has been incredibly frustrating buying what you can get early, just to see better tickets released later to the general public.
Other clubs membership options
Bulldogs
$550 for top level seating at a premium stadium. They are also including members exclusive content.
Dragons
$250 for GA where fans can stand on a fantastic hill with great views of the action. Unless you stand on the family hill it's a struggle to see anything at Shark Park unless you're 6 foot tall.
Manly
$330 for GA, but again like St George fans have the ability to view the game from amazing angles on the hill.
Tigers
$300, but as above, the GA experience is MUCH better than Shark Park.
Panthers
$170 for 8 games GA at Commbank Stadium where there isn't a bad seat in the house! Amazing value especially when the club could easily have jacked the price up to take advantage of their success.
Roosters
$295 for all home games at a brand new state-of-the-art stadium.
You raise good points, and I'd like to know what they're looking to do regarding just some basic improvements, new toilets, new screens etc. It's obvious the government money for a new stadium isn't coming any time soon, or at all, so are they just going to do nothing ?I've never emailed the club before, but just sent through one with some of the following info and was interested in your thoughts.

I may have to try utilise that better, as normally between my family we just let each other invite a friend etc. They do have the buy back option now which I used for a few games and got $200 back for my two seats, think that was for only two games so pretty good return and doesn't sting as much when you can't go.
You get an E Gift card, previous years it gets added to your next years membership which I didn't like so this is better
I wish you told them what you really thought!!I've never emailed the club before, but just sent through one with some of the following info and was interested in your thoughts.

Yeah absolutely recognised that too regarding the leagues club being out of their control. I had more context in the actual email. Some seems fair, some less so.
Leagues club and capacity are what they are. Club won't get building going quicker because of the email, and issues and their disappointment with it are well documented and regular updates are given, that not much has progressed from the last one.
I definitely am disappointed in injury info we get sometimes, but I couldn't definitively say it is worse than the norm. When we are wondering where someone like Berrell is I certainly don't know for certain most NRL clubs would have put something out with that info for a similar level player. I guess I don't follow other teams rosters and injuries closely enough to know for sure we are among the worst, and I'd assume you don't either.
As for other club memberships I'm not well placed to comment but I will say the later two (Panthers and Roosters) are a bit apples/oranges, being clubs with much greater seating capacity are much more motivated to price at rates to get bums on seats. As a % of capacity we are filling a lot more of our stadium than Commbank, if they were filling on average at comparable rate they probably would have the price up.
Pretty pricey affair if you're buying season tickets for the family.Yeah absolutely recognised that too regarding the leagues club being out of their control. I had more context in the actual email.
In general I like the idea of the dogs members only content, or teams like the Knights doing regular injury updates with interviews with head of performance/rehab staff. You're right to assume I'm not across all, but Supercoach has seen me diving through a few.
The main crux is the experience is generally getting worse, and the price is consistently getting higher, is there anything they are going to do about improving the experience? I feel like they could do more for what they are charging at this point in time.
