Haha this is totally ****ed. I know they can’t control the weather, but standing on the footpath in a line that hasn’t moved in the rain and the wind with kids isn’t fun. Surely they could have had a better contingency then this..

I got in around 12.20 after waiting in line since 1045, and as i left the room the queue was still around the corner of the ground

What would you suggest ?

The lines would be the same length inside and with all this rain too much foot traffic would chew up the playing field. The players aren’t even training on it that much.

I think the problems tiday stemmed from the club a) not anticipating the numbers turning up and b) by not doing an expression of interest , couldn't provide allocated times for people to attend to avoid 90min+ queues

Well if it’s pissing down rain and windy and you’ve invited someone over to your place for a swim, what do you do? Postpone it or make other arrangements instead of a swim.. I don’t know, I could probably suggest 100 better ideas than lining everyone (mostly children) up along the footpath outside the stadium, as I’m sure others could also. Just face it, it was poorly organised.

If there was a game scheduled for yesterday on the field, it would have gone ahead and been a lot more ripped up afterwards more so than a few hundred kids running around on it with joggers on.. sometimes you just have to take the hit sometimes if it meant a little bit of repairing.. I mean it’s not like they don’t have the means to be able to repair whatever damage is done quickly..

And perhaps postponing it isn’t that simple. Team might be doing a training a camp away or something.

Easy to criticise when you don’t know

They did do an expression of interest, as a member ( don’t know if you are one) I got an email to submit my request and how many people were going.

How many members didn’t bother doing this. Sounds like a ****ing lot so they weren’t able to get accurate numbers.

In the ET Stand. Massive queue to get in. They should just use a booking system with free tickets
They literally sent out an RSVP email where you fill in details?

Did you not get it ?

Fact a few people have said this suggests people didn’t a) get their emails or b) bother reading them and bother filling it out

Hard for the club to gauge numbers if people aren’t doing what the club asked and just rocking up

Not sure if this is practical for you but I found a bloke in Chatswood that does the framing for a few of the clubs and had been over the past few decades. Seemed reasonably priced, too.
