Yeah I wouldn't be against that at all.
Would be interesting hey. 1.1m for 2023, maybe 700k in 2024? 600k for 2025? Not sure what his going rate would be tbh. We'd have a hell of a side though with our spine being top tier and very reasonably priced across the board.

I wouldn't be comfortable paying him that much. He's been paid extremely well at the Saints, I'd be hoping he might want a last shot at a premiership and take less.

Yeah just threw those figures out there. The 1.1 is what he is currently on, so I imagine that's what it takes for next year. Unless you can convince St George to cover some of it. If Bennet misses out on Munster Hunt will probably be up for a retirement pay day up at redcliffe.

Now or in a few weeks?

whenever I damn please!

btw was last night....

Let him go if we've got a better replacement locked in, but not before. We're thinner than Moyza's hairline when it comes to halves.
I was glad we didn't get Reynolds, but in retrospect he's pretty much the player we need right now.

if we wanted a 'game manager' we could have just retained Chad - any takers? oh I see....

we have done quite well and sit in the top 4 despite having two 5/8's running the team

Hynes should get better too

get someone in that can force repeat sets and maybe we lose some other aspect that's been good for us in the halves

prior to last nights game our attack has looked very coordinated and slick , I can live with 'game management' needing some improvement which I think will come

inside balls, kicking to corners, pointing at players whatever Hynes can do all that stuff already. I think the need for a game manager has mainly come to the fore because we were crap last night , a game manager half wouldn't have helped that much I feel as most of the team was just off. If Nicho played well last night we might have had a different result , it wasn't cause he's a 5/8 he just had an off night, it happens , wasn't the only player

Would Reynolds paired with Hynes in the 6 be good? **** yes it would but we don't have endless salary cap and we might have still lost those games against Raiders and Storm

What makes you think he can't run a team at this stage? Honest question.
My understanding of running a team is someone who directs the team around the park to set up shape and finish sets to the game plan. I'm not saying that it's all down to Nicho, but outside of our last 120 minutes of football, out shape and set plays have been the best i've seen in years.

yep we have looked fantastic with the ball, too early to say we need a solid game manager type half. Fits knew what he was getting into paring Hynes and Mozza and for the most part it has worked well thus far.

get our energy levels back up, sort the defense and ball handling and we will be fire again . structurally we are fairly sound but that doesn't mean some weeks the strucure wont be tested or fall apart - thats a challenge for every team. even the pennies and storm when a team sticks it to them or they turn up a bit flat. looks at penriths first half against Titans tonight, they were off

If hynes was better at building pressure and putting in attacking kicks there would be no talk of the need to recruit a 'game mananger'

It's something he needs to work on, that's on him, he wants to lead this team so it's time he improved in that area

I'm still pleased at where we are at, wasn't all going to be roses

I expect a big bounce back next week

.
But I worry how we can retain enough of the following without the extra 600k+
Jayden Berrell, Braden Hamlin-Uele, Mawene Hiroti, Royce Hunt, Briton Nikora, Franklin Pele, Aiden Tolman, Jack Williams (all off this year)
Matt Ikuvalu, Sione Katoa, William Kennedy, Lachlan Miller, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Jesse Ramien, Siosifa Talakai, Jenson Taumoepeau, Braydon Trindall, Teig Wilton, Kade Dykes, Siteni Taukamo

Sure not all are keeps or big money guys necessarily but you always have to keep in mind squad balance. Munster and Hynes won't do much behind a well beaten pack each week and we aren't yet the kind of powerhouse that can get people on unders.

What's the point in owning your own Golf Club and not putting it to GOOD use ;)

I can play the part of easy beat but someone else will have to front the money.

And I guess fly me over…

That cuts both ways….

If Moylan actually was a more active (and better) kicker it would alleviate the constant kick pressure on Nicho as well

Yeah was posted earlier, but as was reflected on Thursday. Despite this stat, Moylan is a much better defender than Nicho.

That also comes down to whose defending alongside them - Hynes has to defend next to Nikora who topped our MT count with 5.
Nikora leaves Hynes isolated in defence.
Moylan gets bumped off but has Wilton and Talaki there either side of him who quickly close attackers down.

Don’t 100% agree with all of that Punisher.

I see Nicho, when beaten, is grabbing at thin air - Moylan seems, for the most parts to make the tackle or slow the player down speed bump style - I will take this for Moylans up side re attacking instinct.

Darren Lockyer had similar questionable defense at 5/8 - Bennet made sure T. Carroll played inside Lockyer and covered for him. Who is our T.Carroll?

Guess I am thinking, I do not want a defensive juggernaut at 6, that has no chance of breaking open a well structured defence - seen that with too many previous Sharks teams.

If the slide continues in the next 4 x games, then hit the alarm button - for now, I am taking the overall season as bloody sensational.

Dropping the graphic to trash Moylan (or what’s the motivation if not that?)

Meanwhile in other threads people talking about signing Walker, Moses, Hunt, and how Staggs dominated Talakai and how good Manu is etc

he has had good performances earlier in his time with us.
has had a few stinker seasons yes.
playing well this year, it's a start. if he can build on some work he's done this year, will have to see.
