Whilst I think LG has the potential to be great for this club , I think he has a lot to learn in regards to just how much more media scrutiny the NRL is exposed to than Soccer ( in this country/ state).

I reckon he has been surprised a couple of times as to how things have played out in the media and the Gordon issue is the most recent example. He's probably smart enough to learn quick though.

So are we going to start trashing on Lyall Gorman now and say rubbish like he hasnt achieved anything? Good one!

If you look at some of the smaller things instead of things like front of jersey sponsors you'll see Lyall has achieved a lot. The bigger things will come, Rome wasnt built in a day.

Some of you who claim to have knowledge of the inner workings of the club should be well aware of the basket case Lyall walked into when he started the job. The guy is basically fixing and re-building everything. Give him time FFS. Having a dope like Flannagan still there with the ASADA stigma doesnt help his cause.

I'm not fussed. If the club is half as bad as we are told it is, most of his work should probably be behind the scenes. In fact that's where most of his work would be done anyway.

As a distant observer it's a bit hard to make a judgment call when you don't see 99.99 percent of what he does. Unless there is a clear and obvious **** up, results need to be assessed over a much longer timeframe.

Have some cranberry juice for your period to calm your hormone levels.

No one is thrashing him, but based on what is still happening with the club it is fair to give him a below par score.

No one called for his head you gigantic baby so just chill out.

Is this bloke really the answer to the problems at Cronulla? I listened to him bumble his way through the MMM interview the other night and he sounded like a bloke out of his depth. I agree that things need to be kept behind doors on most occasions. However, occasionally, you need to fess up and admit there is a problem. Gordon doesn't want to be here and all Gorman did was, throw more fuel on the fire.

Is he really the heavy hitter the club made him out to be? Sure, he got WSW started but I bet the FFA had a major hand in that. There was no way the FFA was going to allow another team to fail after they had lost the Gold Coast and NQ. I am sure that sponsors were lined up and players hand picked to make them an instant success. How much Gorman contributed to this is the question.

We have a problem here. This club since 1967 has been run like somebodies play thing. Hell, even one of the best CEO's the game has seen in Bruno Cullen couldn't get out of the place quick enough. We have a Chairman that has promised the world but delivered nothing. We haven't had a 'real' major sponsor for 3 years.....3 years. What have you actually changed Keogh?

The club gave the coach a extension on his contract (somehow), whilst he was not part of the club. On top of that, he is just an average coach who's greatest claim is, he won a President's Cup with Easts 10 years ago. Besides a couple of decent seasons here, he has done nothing. Sorry, he had done everything to tear this place apart.

I am afraid that Gorman is not the answer and in fact, I am very afraid that we will be relocated or dumped from the NRL completely. There is no other way to say it...we are an embarrassing rabble. When the next TV deal is done, don't be surprised if you are cheering on the Perth Sharks or the AFL.

Our name not to be in the paper anymore for continual mismanagement.
Well, we don't even know the exact details of what has happened yet. It is possible that we actually haven't done anything wrong. Giving someone permission to negotiate doesn't necessarily mean that we will sign off on the final deal. That's what negotiations are for.

And on a scale of mismanagement, this is a 1/10.

Bruno Cullen was a good CEO because he had a well financed club, backed by News Ltd. millionaires and stacked with QLD SOO players.
He was also heavily criticised last year for the salary cap issues (that have conveniently been buried by News Ltd media, which owns the Broncos). so maybe he isnt the saint you are
making him out to be. Also he is no longer involved with any NRL club. That alone speaks volumes.

He got through the MMM and 2UE interviews quote well considering he was agressively pursued by a One oplutions aligned media mouthpiece, and the idiots on MMM.
I'm not sure how he could have handled that better.

He may have been the coach of that team but the emerging talents of teenager Jamie Soward and others won that premiership for him so I wouldn't attribute the performance of that team to his coaching ability.

To be honest, I think Flanno has been riding the coat tails of a few people over the years and hasn't delivered a decent coaching strategy for a long, long time.

I hear what you are saying but it is still another negative story about our club. I am sure the coach put the CEO in this situation, not the other way around. However, this BS about supporting one another, standing side by side, drinking 6 beers together etc is not washing with me. He needs to get rid of the coach if he wants to move this club forward. We have a bloke here that thinks its his right to do whatever he wants becuause his is the coach. Go back to plumbing Flanagan and do something you are good at.

He can't get rid of the coach even if he wants to. He needs to go through the board, as per the TC controversy.

Touchy touchy Snowman, maybe you should be having the Cranberry juice.
I am chilled mate, just dont like peoples comments criticsing the guy.
Its poor in my opinion, but we have freedom of speech. If you want to criticise the guy go fo it, dont back track now, but expect to cop some in return.
There are dozens of improvements Lyall has made. You know that.

Gorman didn't just build the Wanderers, he also built the Mariners who have pretty much zero advantages bar a decent stadium. They've been going progressively worse since he left (at least off field).

I still reckon Gordon will leave this season. I'm going to wait and see how it plays out. Its too early to judge.

So does that mean cos we have no hopers like robbo then flannos not the reason we are playing ****?

IMHO the club is rebuilding the front of house and things are changing. The front house has new blood in the club besides LG. everyone wants things to happen now and success straight away, I do not. I want everything done well and correctly (no more short cuts) so we don't have any more screw ups like ASADA.

Fix those foundations first, then think big!

Could we be a club that has a successful RL and soccer teams which is play in their respective national leagues, I think it's a big yes!
