The more I read of this A-League bid, the more exciting it looks.

I see massive positives and very little negatives.

Is black and white colour scheme taken?

If Dave Gallop and the FFA decide the A league can support another team, and they wanna pump their cash into it, then id more then happy to lease out Shark Park for 12-odd games over the summer.

As for the Cronulla Sharks footing the bill for a new A League franchise - im not so sure that im comfortable with that scenario.

I think the jury is still out whether the A League can handle more then the current 10 teams, and I'd hate for us to have a financial stake in their expansion plans (besides leasing the ground to them)

Does anyone remember Gold Coast United or NQ Fury? How did that turn out?

The success of the Wanderers, and to a lesser extent Mel City, to me says that those teams should of been there from the start, rather then proof that the A League is capable of expansion.

The only thing that worries me is having the 2 seperate interests from within the club. The cronulla sharks and the leagues club itself have fought for survival for so long, now that is seeming highly likely. How much of that money earned from the development wont go to the Sharks footy team that could have been allocated if an a-league side didnt come along? Fair enough any ground, training or medical facilities would be of great benefit to both teams, plus there is the added revenues, sponsorships and supporters. Id just hate for the Sharks to become the retarded cousins of the A-league team.

I think 12 months use of the stadium is an absolute must though, however that is achieved. If an A-league team either plays out of, or is operated from the ground, the ground has the potential to go from being Remondis Stadium to Microsoft Stadium if you know what i mean. Owning land and the stadium really hasnt benefited the Sharks 1 bit over its life. But if it can become a year round operation i think we could see increased funding for upgrades, better in-ground facilities for us fans as well as all the money perks that come with the added usage

It's OK blokes, we already have the soccer jersey sorted

This does look like the beginnings of a soccer jersey although I don't like the back of it. It should be significantly different from Sydney FC provided the A League don't do what rugby league does and change their jersey's every five minutes. It is easier for teams to share colours provided they don't alter jersey designs.

The way the Jets are going currently with no leadership, money or playing ability I'm sure the FFA would look at taking the licence from the Jets and starting up another franchise. Shame really because Newcastle should be a huge market for the A league but Tinkler and the imbeciles that run the Jets have completely f***** them over!

What is this guy doing if we don't have a major sponsor for this season?

He has gone on record saying it has to be the right deal or more importantly the right fit as to who we want to be aligned with, I am sure he has said he would rather have no sponsor than a sponsor that wasn't the right fit for us.

Don't worry about the sponsor.

Previously a sponsor was what we needed to survive. No longer relevant.

We will get one. A good one.
