Whats the competition under A league.

There isn't a national second tier comp. Only the FFA knockout and state based NPLs (Premier Leagues).

What if we tried that Olympic Sharks idea again?

Could get both the Sutherland Shire and the Greeks in the St George area engaged.

When it was done previously soccer was in nowhere near the same mainstream position that it's in now. Culturally I think we've probably changed a bit as well. If it was done in the right way, it could work.

Olympic would love an opportunity to get back in.

Joint venture between Sutherland Football Association, Olympic and Cronulla Sharks?

Just rough ideas.

If there's to be a SE Sydney side I am certain that the FFA want it to draw from the St George, Sutherland and Wollongong areas. The Gong isn't big enough for its own team but its got a great football base by all accounts.

I don't.think resurrecting Olympic or any of the ethnic teams is a direction the FFA has indicated they are considering. They're simply too divisive - too much history. From what I can tell, the strength of the Wanderers is how they've risen above all that stuff.

I wouldn't completely turn my back on the club like some wanderers supporters, I'd keep the jerseys maybe pull it out on grand final day when sfc are there

I highly doubt my brother will change allegiance so will stay a member regardless

Would be tempting. But nah. I'd stick solid with Sydney FC.

I quite liked this from LG on Tuesday night. He's certainly saying all the right things.

“Myself, Damian, Shane, the players and staff, we are just the custodians of the club at the present time, the club is yours and it’s about you.”

I'm not a soccer fan by any stretch of the imagination, to be honest, it bores the hell out of me..BUT - this idea should be a no-brainer. Hell, I'd even buy a membership just to support it!

The Club is in a perfect position to take advantage of such an opportunity. Shark Park is a perfect ground for soccer and it is just sitting there, unused in the summer months.

The Sutherland Shire is a huge soccer nursery and "The South Coast Sharks" could pull in supporters from the Illawarra and also the St George area.

I think it is an opportunity that is too good to ignore, let's hope it has legs!

But can the dragons supporters support a sharks side even if it's a southern side? Would we support a south side dragons team that plays from Wollongong?
Soccer bores me but I'll only ever support a team that is connected to us

Botany Bay FC. Use The Endeavour as an emblem. Draws a wider geographical area, gives a wink to the sharks and has historic connotations.

Good idea to get use out of the field all year round. Guess the grounds people are able to keep the oval up to scratch. If it was to happen the southern area would pull together in time, as the kids get older and only know the new round ball teams identity.

Gunnamatta gummies?
Any other non serious names?

Agree 100%. Unique, rolls of the tongue too. Has a depth to it too.
