From his 1st touch you could see he was in for a good day. Got instinct & the speed to be where things are gonna happen.

You gotta love that enthusiasm. There were times the ball didn't go to him and he threw his hands in the air. He was also always looking to back up in the middle

Early days but really good signs.

Very vocal. There was a basic penalty and he was signalling to send him for 10. Gave me a bit of a laugh

Was telling in the presser yesterday Hannay seemed to indicate something along the lines of “there’s a bit of something there” like maybe they were even surprised how well he has started and may figure in a fight for the 6 next year.

All of a sudden we have so much depth in the spine next year!

Kennedy, hynes, trindall, Metcalf, brailey, McInnes, moylan are all spine players

Right now, I'm picking Metcalf over Tracey, in any position.

The support play he brings is something we have been crying out for. If he isn't on the field we don't score from the Ronnie or Moylan breaks. In other games we haven't pushed up or have butchered those. Absolute must in the 17 somewhere.

Tracey at centre is a completely different beast. Cant play anywhere else.

Re-signing Moylan seems stupid now we have Metcalf

Agree re Tracey. Re-signing Moylan was dumb at 400k regardless, but it is looking stupid altogether. I guess depth in the halves can't hurt us for one year. All are on contract, if Hynes succeeds we can light a fire under the other two to get the free spot.

Super important that we extend Metcalf for at least 2023 so we can have a real good look at who is the better option out of him and Trindal.

After that effort from Metcalf I’m fairly happy we can find success between Hynes, Moylan, Trindall, Metcalf (Tracey), especially with a helping hand from McInnes
Focus the remaining funds into forwards

100% such a basic effort aspect, from a fast player, we have lacked for years now

There was always something there, he has looked good in lower grades and trial games, I think the surprise comes from how quickly and effectively it has translated to FG for him. maybe it helps a bit he isn't a teenager and has already faced some tough adversity with injuries ect.

reminds me a bit of how we uncovered Jack Bird in 2015, he really set the games alight in his first couple rookie games and gave us another dimension in attack we sorely needed

I don't think Moylan works that well as a 14 so maybe Metalf can do some special things from the bench for us and bide his time. would be suprised if Moylan doesnt get injured again at some point in 2022 anyways or even this season! how it all works with Hynes and Trindall fmd good luck Fitzy

Tracey at centre is a different beast.. is there even evidence of that, wasn’t he playing centre yesterday ?

I love it. My take is the new game is suited to a bunch of high energy, versatile players. I’m wondering if you could even get away with a couple less forwards in exchange for players like smith, Watson, Brimson, drinkwater… add any of those guys in exchange for Nikora with the guys we have next year and we’d be looking good imo

Nikora for any of them does seem good, make it happen

I get I named forwards in exchange for a forward, but I don’t see the ones I named as forward by definition, I see Nikora as a forward, but he is **** and limited.
