Can this bloke play in the centres? Or we would be wasting him there?

I suggested this the other day. He might be "wasted" but really his path to regular first grade is reasonably blocked unless he adapts

Fullback - We have Kennedy, and if Kennedy goes down we have options of Hynes, Tracey to go there. Metcalf an option.
Halves - He's behind Hynes, Moylan, Trindall
Bench utility - Tracey might take that spot, or maybe Watson if we sign him. Perhaps Brailey if McInnes starts at hooker.

He's fast as ****, can handle the defensive work, a better ball player than Tracey imo. So if we can make Tracey a centre, can't see why not giving Metcalf a go.

What time did he come on? Want to give him a closer look in his debut game

Enjoyable listen. He is a well spoken kid. I really hope we get a chance to see what he can do at some point in the halves. If he hadn't been tripped and went through to score he probably locks down a spot in the 17 for this week at least.

That was Great - Prefers the halves .
Nicko / Trindall / Medcalf / Moylan

3 of the 4 will get better and better

Was **** tonight, with two minutes to go he could conjure the win. Very disappointed.

And this is the REALLY Sad part .
Rather than giving him experience and a red hot crack this season with injuries etc
We will probably get a loan player for four weeks and he'll disappear from the 17 all together
I really really dislike Hannay as a coach .

Perhaps coaching staff afraid to load him up with pressure playing 80 mins outside of another inexperienced half in Trindall .
But surely he's worth 20-30 mins in the second half when a minor reshuffle would facilitate that.
Especially when the halves on the field were struggling themselves

The rookie halves struggled, should have thrown another rookie at it

At least change it up.

Tracey hasn’t shown the promise in the halves as expected (but has been a great addition as part of our outside backs).
Our points were created by our Dummy half and fullback, so giving Metcalf a crack would have been a better option than sticking with something that wasn’t working at that point.

Hard to say what will trot out as our 5/8 next week, does Hannay cut his losses & put a line through CT as a 6?
I’m guessing it’s a tougher call than normal to make with CT probably our player of the year so far, if he’s not then he’s only second to Will.

Agree with Western Sharkie.
What's your problem with that ?

Everyone seems to be saying the problem with Trindall is inexperience. Not sure why you'd throw in a guy with even less experience?

And to be fair, Tracey didn't do a bad job. Bet he wishes he had that 2nd tackle kick back, but otherwise okay
