Named for his debut tonight. Good luck, will be a trial by fire if there ever has been one.

What a nightmare game to debut in! Hopefully a lack of crowds makes it somewhat less daunting.

I really like the look of this kid. Lightning speed and silky hands.

I hope he's our backup fullback/half next year, assuming Tracey makes the permanent switch to centre.

One player who has spent time at Manly our for one in!

TBH I didn't have high hopes for this game (like many) so this makes it a bit more exciting. May not get much time though, depending on how things are playing out.

Hope he even gets on the park at some stage. Would suck if he’s an unused benchie, which could happen.

I’d be okay if we don’t use him if we are getting belted.
Rather he remember his first game with happy thoughts (or at least a competitive loss).

Likely a player with some history of injury like him would rather lock in an NRL game while he can and hope he laughs about how bad it went later than want to sit it out and hope a dream debut comes another time.

I think he will be used like Trindall was at the start of Hannay, come in for the last 10 to 15 mins.

Needs to play next week, 6 or 4 don't care.

Really happy with him tonight, only played 15 minutes but felt like he had a real impact in the 2nd half

Popped up around the middle everywhere and looked dangerous

Great cameo appearance. Was good to see him confident in the playmaking. Should have been put on much earlier, with Tracey into the centres.

I know it was minimal but Metcalf did more in his 15 min stint than Tracey did the whole game.

or give him game time and experience even if we are going to lose at least there is less pressure and expectation which is what coach did tonight

1 loss isn't going to destroy the boy

I thought he was solid and didn't spill his lollies , confident outing

yea the debut isn't that important in the grand scheme of things, it's what you go onto to do in the games after for the rest of your career. unless ofcourse you were to have such an unbelievably bad debut you never get picked again

Or you have the dream debut like Stewy Mills but still don't end up with much of an NRL career

If Moylan is back, I would put Metcalf in the centres.
