I dunno, who would possibly want information on a club or players pasts!?

Someone prepared to do the research??I like my news currently on topic without having to wade through pages and pages of shyte until you realise it was someones grandfather that assulted the milkman in 1947.

In that case there are 100+ of your posts we can delete. I agree though, having to scroll down past the first 20 posts in this thread was such a waste of my time, if only we had a 'go to first new post button' or something .

Didnt recognise the name, now a bit worried that I know more about him. On the plus side he will be one of the more motivated guys out there to prove himself, just hope he can back that up with some ability.

Watched a replay of one of the NSW cup games, the guy scored a try with some pace and determined running. Was one of our best.

Just a fill in though I expect.

we should give whoever is best a go

hes not the best mate, if he was at any other club he wouldnt get a run

we are not going to make the 8, so why use an avg player to try and win 1 or 2 games ?

give a few of the nyc players a taste of first grade, there the future of the sharks not this bloke

so who is better then? who at our club aren't we playing who would be running around for all the other clubs?

and you would really rather some nyc player come into the side, just so he can gain experience? well don't come bitching on here when he plays crap and we lose screaming about how he sucks and Ricky has no idea. maybe the player may go 'hooray! I played first grade!' but there will be 16 others out there who deserve to be there who just become more disheartened and interested in leaving due to another loss and not to mention all the fans who have to deal with it. meanwhile someone else who is better and could have helped the team more is off playing somewhere else because he isn't a potential superstar.
by your logic we should have never played porter last year and played townsend instead.

We can make the 8. Not saying we will, but we can.

Coolum... you offering to do the research?

Seriously mate... many, many, many hours go in to make this forum what it is and not one hour of that is paid to any one of the volunteers who keep this forum running.

And yet, you complain?

On so many occasions, Moderators and myself have sought to get the assistance of the sharksforever members in simple tasks like helping in the archival of images and newsfeeds that we gather and very rarely is that assistance forthcoming.

And yet, you complain?

We actively encourage sharksforever members to take photographs of NRL, NSW Cup and Toyota Cup Games which they do graciously and post it here to this forum.

And yet, you complain?

We have been the ONLY forum to facilitate semi-live coverage of Sharks games (at all grades) when there is no main stream media coverage.

And yet, you complain?

We have correspondents who do their best to comment on all Sharks games from SG Ball (and sometimes Matty's Cup) by attending matches and filing reports.

And yet, you complain?

We have community based initiatives that we have instituted that support Sharks players and the Club that are trying to leverage the Sharks in to a position of greater engagement and respect in the community.

And yet, you complain?

The Cronulla Sharks were born in 1967... at a time that the world called "The Summer of Love". At that time, the saying "You're either a part of the problem, or part of the solution" was born.

I ask you... are you a part of the problem, or part of the solution???

When you typed the exceptionally cynical statement "FFS this forum blows." I'm wondering whether you were ever man enough to actually go out and do some research yourself and bring it back to this forum ... or perhaps make an effort to go see a development squad game and give a report on the players yourself.

Or do you just see it as your right to sit back and complain?

The inclusion of Luke Harlen into the NRL side was as much of a jaw-dropper to me as anyone... and I've actually seen him play when I go out to actually see our development squads play!

Give it a rest - if you want this forum to be better, put your hand up and make an effort to make it better.

You know guys it probably would have been easier to just call him a wanker but I guess you guys are moderators so that would look bad.

So as I'm not a moderator let me be the first to say coolum, pull your head in mate and stop simultaneously wanking yourself and redback.

I agree.

There is no point just bringing up NYC players just for the sake of it.

It might be different if we had an established first grade side with plenty of experience, but we just cant keep blooding 19 year old when they arent yet up to it. Especially if they are playing next to other 19 and 20 year olds with limited experience.

We dont have the experience in our squad to continue to bring in so many inexperienced players in such a short period of time.

The bronco's have been doing it for years. We did it last year and from what I have seen both Kyle Odonnell and Adam Goode are much better prospects than Stapleton and Wright.

the bold section aside, regardless of what someone told you about how good a prospect they are that doesn't mean they should have a better shot than the older, more experience, probably better, good prospects

If they are overall better players than Harlen then I have no problem bringing them in. If they are still very raw and are not up to the standard of Harlen, then I don't think they should be put in front of him.

The thing with the Broncos is that they have always had a contingent of highly experienced and talented footballers which have been there to guide the younger guys through.

Our team on the other hand, has very little experience out there at the moment (Particularly in the backs). Most of our established first graders are still learning. It's a totally different environment to the Broncs where there a numerous high quality on field mentors. We just don't have that luxury at the moment.

On a side note, What's the go with Adam Goode? I've heard a lot of people rave on about him, but he's never in the starting team for the 20's.

Told me? I've watched them play three times this year and they have been standouts every game.

I really rate Goode. He is a damaging ball runner who hits the line hard at excellent lines. Beats me why he is on the bench, impact maybe. Hits hard in defence as well. He may well be the replacement for Williams if Reece doesnt make it back.

Tupou was a bench player most of his career, including going from bench NRL to bench AUS, some players it is just their thing. (Also, could be part of Toops problem now...)

dude he sucks,

as i have said all year i would have had brodrick wright in the team he is named as 18th man and i really hopes he gets the nod over harlen

atleast the nyc players have a go theres a couple there that i think would go better than cuthbo and cordoba ( odonell and goode )
