Peachey, did you not read my post clearly. When did I indicate that I would rather Albert over Covell? Albert was a great finisher and probably the fastest player to play the game yet he was lazy and when it came to the hard stuff like dummy half running early in the tackle count he would regularly go missing. I did however state that I think Ricky should go with the abundance of youthful talent coming through the ranks who can actually score length of the field tries and make linebreaks unlike Covell. I mean really, at best he has the pace of an elderly pensioner (on pension day, they seem to grow an extra leg on pension day). And C'mon, to say that Covell was our best player for the last two years is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard and I think most fans would agree with me except maybe sharks195 who has a bit of a pre pubescent boner for Covell. All in all I dont think that Covell is the worst player Ive ever seen, but I would rather the hare instead of the tortoise on the flank for the sharks. And yes, I would rather Albert over Covell because Albert was clearly a better player.

Sorry guys but I am with Teflon here and he has explained it well. Covell is a good safe bet but he is no game breaker, he is never going to break a deadlocked game with some individual brilliance, and to be honest since the departure of some of our recent gamebreakers in Peachey, Campbell etc with individual game breaking brilliance it is something we lack, so I for one agree wholeheartedly with teflon.

I tell you after watching some trial games yesterday at Shark Park between our PL and Flegg sides there is some great young gamebreaking talents in our ranks.

Well that certainly is good to hear GW and it will be even better if we can hang on to them and nurture them through the grades.

Whoa 195, who gives you the right to comment like that, he is entitled to his opinion and in no way did he talk to you like that, he just said you basically worshipped him, he has valid points to back up his comment, where are yours?

This is no way a personal attack on you bud but, he has opinion and you have yours, but he is at least backing up his comments.

I am not taking sides here at all but I agree with his points and what he said. Maybe you should think about it and then come back with an informative comeback/opinion?;)

LOL, I've been called stupid...and Ive been called an idiot before...but never both at the same time. I might have to clarify some things here. 195 and Peachey, I really love the fact that both you boys are such passionate sharks fans, I really do. Its just that you both say some really out there statements that I feel obliged to comment on. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings with some of the things I say but thats what I do. I'm not the greatest Covell fan in the world and everybody knows it, and I'm going to keep saying so until he tastes the stinging sensation that is premier league. My kudos to Great White who seems to be on the same page as me and is a true disciple in the way of the shark. And just for the record 195/Peachey, both of you have had cracks at me in the past, its just that my skin is a little thicker boys.

For sure Peach, I mean, we are all sharks supporters and if your on this site it means that your the most passionate of sharks supporters. I like you and 195 mate, 195 seems to think I'm out to get him but I'm not really. We need more supporters like yourselves. I always try and make my posts colourful and its just a shame that involves takin the piss out of you and 195, lol. Trust me, its nothing personal.

I think Shark195 has been scared off. Regarding Covell i think at his best his a better than average player who can defend and make inroads into opposition defences, so I don't subscribe to Teflon's opinion. At his worst Covell can be shown up in defence and be passive in attack, I remember particularly a Tigers game in 05 when he had a shocker. All in all I think all of you pro & anti Covell supporters really have selective memory. In conclusion if Covell is at his best he definitely warrants a spot in the team.

This is a fair statement, but all along I've stated that we have better options than covell now. Judging on the first trial I would say that Misi and Fraser Anderson have a better claim than Covell. Covell just doesnt have the speed to be a first grade winger in this day and age. And talk about a choker when it comes to important kicks. CHOOOOOKE. Give the kicking duties to Hannay and increase our threat out wide with Misi.

talk about a choker when it comes to important kicks. CHOOOOOKE..

ill give you that one...doggies v sharks last yr - telstra stadium, i was there..had a kick jus to the left of the posts..gets it..where all level..sprays it to the left...tho we shouldnt have been in that situation...that richardhead tony archer..screwed us around..had us back 15mtrs instead of 10 which gave the dogs chances to get on a role and gave the dogs made up penalties

I have to agree with you Teflon, Covell is a choker when it comes to the pressure kicks who could forget the Bulldogs game last year when he could bearly get near the posts with his kicks

And lets not forget the final round against canberra when he could have put us into extra time. I just think he misses alot of easy kicks for a kicker of his ability.

Dont get me wrong, I dont think Ive ever seen somebody strike the ball as cleanly as Covell does, its just that he's wasting a spot that could be used for somebody who could score tries, not just kick goals.
