We actually decided on his name during Super Bowl XLII where my wife (a non-sports fan watching begrudgingly) joked that if the Giants pulled off the improbable upset over the undefeated-all-season-long Patroits (NFL fans will know just how unlikely that was going to be) that we would name our first child Manning, after Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

As it turned out, the Giants pulled off the miracle upset and the name just stuck with us ever since.

So in answer to your question peach, it was technically after Eli :drunk

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes. I am off to take our baby his membership package which I've had waiting for him for months, including his member's jersey (which has his name on it for those curious enough to look - haha!) and his season ticket with daddy in the ET Upper. Again, let's hope he does choose to support the Sharkies (I'm 99.9% confident he will) and nobody else. If we do win this weekend against Souths,he will officially become my lucky charm as well. Up Up Cronulla!

I don't have any kids myself but admire those who do; it is something that must take a hell of a lot of commitment, with many highs and lows along the way...much like supporting the mighty Sharks I would think!

i made my little bloke a member when he was 5 days old, so he was the youngest member at that stage.
