Anyone who does Leg spin in cricket can you please tell me some tips on where to pitch the ball because I do Leg spin but I
dont know where the best place to pitch the ball is, I can also bowl the Top spinner and the Googly and I know where to pitch
the ball for those deliveries.
Any tips would be very much appreciated, cheers
My shoulder ain't what it used to be, but I always 'chuck' a leggy in here and there so's I can see whatsup
Read through the first five replies to your question.
You've one ball to go........where do you pitch it?
Some of them are jokes, some (all) of them are good advice.
You have to make up your mind which one is a joke and which is not.
When bowling any kind of spin, you should want the batsmen to have doubt in their mind. 'Do I come forward' 'Do I stay back'
'Is he gonna bowl this' 'Is he gonna bowl that'.
You can put doubt into the batters minds by having full control of your different deliveries.
You asked for some tips on where to pitch leg spinners.
Generally, you want to pitch them on, or just outside leg stump (to a RH batter) and have them kick/turn away.
You need to judge for yourself what length to bowl them, because every batter/circumstance is different, as sometimes batters are
in defensive mode, and other times they want to smack the crap out of you. Better still, you wanna sucker the batter into thinking
he is better than you.
Even when batters want to smack the crap out of you, some of them will try doing it from the crease, while others will advance
down the wicket. If you watch cricket on TV you will see that the better batters use both these methods.
This post is getting a little long, so I'll say only seven more things
.
Next time you're
batting in the nets sharkyboy, think about where you
don't want a leggy to pitch the ball.
Watch the video that Mega gave you, and work out for yourself the six deliveries not mentioned there.
To be a consistently dominating leggy, you have to consistently practice, but more importantly, when it comes to game
day, you need to bowl with a confidence that makes your team mates know that sharkyboy is in control.
Shane Warne's objective was to make the batter play the type of shot that
he wanted the batter to play.
