I'm not that fussed about getting someone in return, who did they have that they would actually release to us.

Yeah same, and I sort of feel this fills up a spot on their roster for 3 years where he is unlikely to be what they need anyway... so one less player they might poach from us in future.

Too shallow in front row to offer us anyone decent there
Edge they are too shallow too unless they were interested in offloading Friz the veteran to promote Brodie Jones.

Tuala I could see as available but he's probably higher on their depth chart than he is on ours and especially with Ponga and Best injury issues and Miller being an unknown he likely plays a lot of games for them this year.

Only true option (bar the Friz thing I talked myself into) would be if we liked one of their dev or train and trial guys, probably not enough for top 30 but could promote Iro and give them that dev spot. Maybe Krystian Mapapalangi we could have convinced over with a top 30 spot, he's the only one I am aware could potentially be worth that.

I just don't love giving away a contracted player for free when we don't have to but then in this case with him being older, and I think we can cover it fine, it shouldn't be too problematic.

Hearing that Ikuvalu is good to go rd1 kills any interest in Tuala imo.

Agree, although I'll believe it when I see it.
Seems to be mixed thoughts with not everyone as confident as Ikuvalu himself...

miller is gone, nothing in return
Piss poor management from Sharks if so.
Should have at least got a young gun in return.
Why strengthen your opposition (and i use strengthen loosely with Miller) - hang on, maybe thats it and weve just condemmed them

Would rather get no-one than an anyone.
There really wasn't a lot left. Newy's pool is pretty shallow.

Presumably there were not massive overhauls in our strats and intended play style but kind of annoying we ran him through such a big chunk of our preseason to just pass him along for nothing too.

Will be able to pass along info on some set plans, shapes and calls etc
Preseason or midseason changes aren't so uncommon that we can't cope with that though.

Really Newcastle can know as much as they want and will beat us if we decided to take them easy and Ponga decides to have one of his rare dominant games

Can only assume we had someone in mind and it didn't work out.

I still think he has a bit of work to do to lock down that fullback spot. The competition isn't outstanding but Gamble isn't exactly behind Miller.

I think they've signed him as much for his attitude as ability.
