We'll know if this is a good or bad thing in a few years time. There were tantrums and kicking/screaming on here when other "boom juniors" have left and realistically they didn't kick on. Only time will tell.

This is great news , looking forward to watching chad step up a gear :hoping

Hope youre being saracastic... the early form of SJ and Chad can be put down to the pressure Kyle was putting on them both. Ever since it got leaked he was gone they’ve gone to sht. Who’s going to keep them out of their spot now ? Worst news to receive.

I kind of get the feeling that this probably would have played out this way no matter what. With what happened to his papa and everything.

Hmm so the club is essentially disappointed that a talented young player wants to play first grade instead of the park footy comp

disappointed that he was released yet they are the ones that rubber stamped it

club will say they had no choice and didn't want to hold him back but that's only because they played their cards poorly

We have another junior, who wants to be at the club.

Happens most of the time these days though, if a player doesn't want to be somewhere they generally get out.

Yeah certainly could have been.

We don't know if the Roosters are paying him double what he's on now either.

If he proves out he can always come back. It's a two year contract.

We don't know how it played out and we might never know.

Gutted he's going, yes. Will I get over it... Already have. Club's lose young players and clubs gain young players.

Not necessarily, he re-signed with us for two years after that. He killed it in the time he had, he got the wins and someone else was able to give him the starting spot the club wasn’t. We didn’t play our cards properly..

Maybe.

But Chad was playing well at that point and you're not usually going to just put an international in reserve grade.

The other thing is, he might have stayed up and been found out by now.. Look at Nikora. Young players tend to burn out or get found out if they are exposed for too long.

And apart from that this talk has been going on for a long time now. Probably even while he was playing first grade.

Truth is he's probably an opportunist and would have gone to the high budget Roosters anyway.

Dumb.

And now no pressure on Chad to perform.

The reality is most clubs don't have the depth to make players to perform due to fear of being dropped.

Chad is a professional, he should be playing well for other reasons than a rookie taking his spot.

Unfortunate timing that at the same time he got his chance with us Roosters were realising they didn't have faith in the Lam(b)s.
Attractive club like that realises they have a roster spot just as you start to prove you deserve one was always going to be hard to manage.

On one had you have us where he has to compete for his spot next season against Chad.
On the other hand is the roosters telling him he's a walk up start next year.

Should we really have dropped Chad, who was playing well for us when all this started (and I still blame others more than him now) to accommodate Kyle threatening to leave?
****ing Kyle Flanagan who pretty much everyone said would be lucky to be a cheaper Chad at the start of the year before he played like six fairly good games this year. Chad has played six fairly good games too! Kyle hasn't done anything to prove to me he is ahead of Chad right now. Kyle Flanagan who choked in a grand final like what, last year?

It's a shame to lose him because he had shown some upside and it leaves a big gap but I'm glad we didn't cave in to the backup kid sooking he is ready now.
Long term decent halves are tough to find - but with smart roster management, good buys and a bit of luck you get by and even excel.

From the moment roosters offered him a basically uncontested start next season he was gone.
