The irony is that if Speechley was in the NRL today he’d have that fantastic technique coached out of him.

Who did SJ sign with?
Geez some of you guys are harsh, imo, he would make most NRL clubs 17, he was only a injury or two from making the Maroons 17, I hope the replacement player we have is on the cusp of making origin teams.
The bench is the best place for many utlity players though. Jack of all trades, master of none ...as the saying goesHe was on the cusp due to his versatility and the fact they had minimal other options. He didn't even make the starting 13 here at full strength.

Agree but he wants to start, doesn't he?
yeh but he isnt getting that at penrith either
Is it perhaps possible that he isn't the second coming of jesus or a fetid piece of dog ****?
Don't quite understand the hate?
I don't understand how he can be polarising. He's a good squad filler. Way better than the ones we've had in the past.

People are pretty much just saying 'oh well, didn't have the money to keep him, no dire loss'
Doesn't translate to hate. Or otherwise people like Tatus saying gutted he isn't re-signing with us 'on the cheap' and sure, I'd take $150k Capewell on the squad, would have been very nice for us if he waited so long he ran out of options.
He's a useful, versatile bench - good to keep if you can afford him, not a disaster if you can't.
Think only snow is slagging him off and you can do with that opinion as you wish
The only polarising thing about him is his pricetag I think. The lamenting comes from seeing glimpses of how good he could have been... Why he didn't develop into an all round class player is a bit of a mystery
