id be down for ronnie at 1 and SS on the wing
So instead of one guy who isn't allowed to play you'd have a different guy who isn't allowed to play?

For the Sharks to use a dev player in the outside backs they would need to have 8 of these players missing.

Dykes, Taukamo, Kennedy, Katoa, Mulitalo, Ikuvalu, Tracey, Talakai, Ramien, Hynes, Trindall, Moylan, Wilton, Hiroti.

Or they just upgrade someone if they want to use them

I like to think we could get an outside back through if we wanted to, even if Hynes, Moylan and Trindall were still healthy. While Hynes and Moylan have played fullback in the past they are quite clearly halves now, argument hampered slightly by that one game at fullback from Hynes. Not sure how strict the NRL is about it but I think Fitz could push the case for Hynes and certainly Moylan hasn't played there since first half of 2020 and everybody knows it's not in his best interest to play him there again

We will have an extra top 30 spot available with Miller gone, won't we? Wonder who gets it... It maybe Fitz has another cunning plan to stock our FB depth. We could use it

Yeah - but I'm talking about a game or two. If Talakai or Ramien break their leg in rd1 then sure - upgrade Iro immediately and give him a red hot go. If you just have to get by for a week or two, why unnecessarily upgrade a guy? It costs real money, messes with your cap, and may actually make it harder to make changes later in the season if/when you need to.

To win
If he is the best guy for the job and you have the roster spot (and the cap space) you upgrade him to win.
If stocks are that thin you need him once, there is a non-zero chance you need him again.

I'd like to see how he went, but I don't think he has the stamina, always seems puffed after a few big runs... better as an explosive winger.
Yep, I think he's a winger (the stint at centre didn't change that view much) but I'd still include him as FB depth. It'd be fun if nothing else, I reckon he'd have a field day... for a day

When you look at the chart we've been extremely lucky

Be interesting to see one for 'significant' (maybe ones which do or would miss 10+ weeks, ALC, patella, achilles, pec that sort of thing)

Is Taukamos injury from trying to save that try in the world cup? shoulder? pec?

Yeah, not sure if it was ever clarified which it was. Dislocated shoulder he'd probably be back soon, pec could be end of this month, early next month I'd think.
