Yes and no

Biggest Yes
Best? well that will depend on how mobile South's pack ends up being I think they are big but.....

They're all mobile too but, and quick. Taylor is a centre, just the side of 3 of them. Burgess could also play there at a push, and is just as comfortable in the backrow as he is up front. Asotasi in form is one of the best in the world. Crocker can go all day. Ross can move too I've never seen a bloke get in the wrong place, at the wrong time, in no time.

Beware the Bunnies of '10 mate.

Well I guess we will have to wait and see Caps I remember people rating the Warriors pack and Stacey Jones last year as well

I think Souths will go well but not that good not this year anyway.

And I was one of them. How the f-ck the Warriors managed what they did with their season I've got no idea. No way Souths, or any other team as well equipped as the 09 Warriors were, bottom out even half as bad as they did.

Souths did nothing but improve. Best 'on paper' forward pack. Newer, better coach. Their backline - the highest scoring backline of 09 - is relatively unchanged apart from having another year of FG experience under their belts.

Forwards yes.

Melbournes full team is still the best pack in the comp across the park

What?

Pack = 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13
Forwards = see above

lol but yes I picked it, without Stacey they were a better team.

Mate they still leaked points at the wrong times Lang should be able to fix that but will that hamper their attack is another question I have.

my bad i meant there whole team 1-17

On paper, apart from the obvious stars, they don't actually look that hot. And they're not really only a handful of them perform as good or better outside the Storm.

But comps aren't won on paper, and however they are won, Melbourne seem pretty good at doing that.

It'll be interesting to see if they can pull of a 5th year as the benchmark of the competition, but I won't be writing them off. As long as they make the 8 they could take another trophy. Its pretty hard to back against a team that has Inglis, Slater and Smith in a big game.

lol but yes I picked it, without Stacey they were a better team.

I don't know if they were better without Stacey. They were better when he came off the bench, and they were better when he didn't have Joel Moon alongside him. I admit Stacey's comeback wasn't a great one, but I don't think he was the problem. I reckon they would of done worse without him.

Souths' defence at times showed plenty of promise, and their attack has no worries. And last I remember, Lang didn't care too much about defence so long as his side outscored the other team.

Stacey was the problem for so many years mate, he left went OS and they started to play as a team then he came back and the team fell apart it went to sh!t it was so predictable without him they will do better this year.

Yes and that is what got him the ass at the panthers you cant win a premiership in the NRL without sound defence, promise isn't good enough.

But I guess we will have to wait and see for my mind they aren't top 4 lucky to be top eight if you ask me, time will tell.

anyway :topic

perhaps player that want to stay at clubs should consider taking a pay cut. and those that dont want maybe should leave the code. nrl player are way too over payed atm. even though nrl is one of the lower sports on the amount they pay the players.

sorry boys and girls, we do have the best foward pack in the comp, in 08 its what we built our dominance on, in 09 we had a c u n t of a yr, now its changed a bit and make no mistake, it WILL be better than souths.
Souths are just buying all this big guys and throwing them together, Taylor CAN play great, but he has had strings of games (up to 7 in a row) where he goes completely unoticed. Burgess may be a big 21 yr old with endless potential, but has he ever stepped out onto the park in the NRL?
Crocker is Great but getting older, his body may not cope this season, and as for rossy, I wont even go there.

Douglas is better than all of them, snowden has potential to be just as good as any of them, gallen sh*ts on them for breakfast, toops yep better than them, cuthbo will come in and play better than all of them aswell, yep Im right on this one boys, we have the best foward pack in the competition.

they won in 03
Jesus mate that's a peachey comment mate must have been getting late lol that was 7 years ago, a hell of a lot has happened and changed since then its isn't the same game!

What happened after that why did he get the sack they made the semis the following year then it was all down hill after that, do you remember the scores that were being put on Penrith those years.

Last year Lang was the coach in waiting he was obviously doing some of the work and taylor was the muppet but hw would have been taking all the heat from upstairs. I don't think the defence they showed was anything to crow about TBH its was very soft at times and that wont get you to a GF, the game has changed it will be interesting if Lang has changed his ways as well all the pressure will be on him that's for sure.

What will happen when they get the inevitable injuries can they back it up will Ross stay on the field has Lang changed his ways lots of questions.

New coach new team, I am looking forward to this year that's for sure and ill will be watching every game with much interest.

Do they televise the return to Redfern match at all and when is it?

I really wish the bunnies could go back to redfern full time.

This has gone quite off topic really, hasn't it? Oh well, for what it's worth, I think the Bunnies will be the biggest disappointment of 2010. Their biggest problem will be exactly what it was last year - they are a group of individuals playing for themselves, not a team playing for one another. There are too many "glory hounds" who want to score the tries or put on a big hit and virtually no-one who wants to do the grunt work and make 30 hit-ups and tackles in a match. The only exception to this is Luke Stuart. No surprises there - he's an Engadine boy!

I was talking to a guy who was one of the Bunnies trainers recently and he confirmed what I am talking about. He stated the Rabbitohs biggest problem is the players attitude. Too many lazy, big ego's running around there.

I predict they will struggle to make the eight once again, despite Rusties dodgy spending spree and backdoor deals.;)

Hmmm... Interesting.

I wonder if that will change somewhat with a new coach though? It would be much more appealing to play for Johnny Lang than Jason Taylor.

I think Taylor was pretty much seen as a self-important wanker by a lot of Souths players. I heard that he had lost the change room a long time ago. A fresh approach could do wonders. I expect a decent season from them.
