Dangerous with and without the ball.
This is what we want to see from Ramien and what we thought he was capable of.
Just needs to get those 1-2 brain explosion moments out of his game and then you are spot on!

didn't look good for him. hope he is ok

but that's our Jesse!
jesse knows how to ruin a good thing
jeopardizes things in a good team.
hope fitz enacts a no d!ickhead policy.

Has been awesome. An absolute beast every time he gets the ball.

Yes a couple of mistakes like last nights tackle. But hard to be happy with someone for being super aggressive and not expect the occasional slip up

Yep. Can cop the odd slip up that his aggressive style opens the door for. Not dumb unnecessary **** but

We might struggle for outside backs next week.
Ramien unlikely to be available and both CT and MI copping injuries.
Ronnie comes back, but our 2 first choice centres and best depth option are all in doubt!
Do we really want 2 back rowers in Wilton and Talakai for a full 80 playing centre?
I have no doubt they would give it a red hot crack but it also weakens our edges if both need to play at centre.

Well.. yeah. But what choice do we have? Wilton & Sifa aren't horrible fill ins. I'm just loving being confident who ever steps up.

I agree. We don’t have much choice.
Just hoping we don’t upset “the balance“ of the side too much having 2 second rowers filling in for our 2 first choices centres and best depth back up outside back.

we will probably go sife and ronnie but tell ya what, i would love iro or jensen to get a debut
Admittedly not much but Jensen has been uninspiring to me, Iro or Lualua I reckon

I like it how some sets Hynes just gives the ball straight to Ramien with some space to see what he can do. I think in the past our halves have been guilty trying to draw defenders in before passing too often.
Def didn’t pair perfectly will SJ, Ramien likes a windup with footy. SJ almost always passed to him late

What I'm loving about Ramien the most so far this season is he's got his timing back and hes reading the game better.
For all his tackle busts, linebreak and few tries last year he was super wasteful. His time of his runs in the line, timing of when and where to pass to his outside man and his decisions when making a break were lacking.

So far he's really connecting great catch and pass plays down the righ and spreading early when the break is on.

He came back to us after nearly a year of no football (left knights and then covid the following year). It was always going to take a little bit for him to start feeling himself again.

Lots of people, rightly or wrongly, complained about his deal price and length at the time, but if he can improve a little and keep that consistency then suddenly we are getting good value from him

What?

He played 17 games for Newcastle, 19/21 in 2020 for us, and then 17 again last year.

Now he is playing well in what is effectively a contract year as he can negotiate at end of season. Better time than never to start getting good value I guess.
