Never stop posting burgess

Thx mate :)

Just a quick update tonight. I haven't watched the CHS game but I watched the CCC game. More of the same for Pickering. He played just under half a game, mostly at fullback with a but of hooker towards the end. it was nice to see him involved a bit at the end. He wasn't a factor otherwise. His halves must have gotten a rocket from the coach because they shifted it early and often in this game. They actually have some decent outside backs.

CCC beat CIS 19-12 in the end and booked their place in the final.

*

In other news, I've probably got enough info and updates to break the U18's off in to their own thread now. Will do that over the next week or so.

I wasn’t able to catch the last couple of games. Will watch them later. Here is a shirt update ...

CCC best CHS in the final. Pickering scored a try.
Xerri didn’t play in the semi final. Not sure about the final.
Jock Madden was player of the tournament - haha picked it! Selectors love a ball hog!

Xerri and Pele made the Australian schoolboys.

Updated 8 August 2018. They look to be over their little slump and now have everyone fit except Mulitalo. 3 wins on the trot has them back in 2nd spot.

Here's an update on the lineup.

Blue = re-signed in 2018
Orange = new signing for 2019
Green Underlined= Off Contract 2018
Red = Departing in 2018

Fullback
Luke Polselli - has played every game

Wing
Christopher Tupou - has played every game
Isaac Lumelume - has played 3 weeks in a row now (2 in JF and one for the Jets). Let's hope he can turn his good health in to good form.
Jackson Ferris (2018) (Gymea) - has played centre and wing
Cooper Bowen (Engadine) - just played the one game

Centre
Bronson Xerri (u18) - picked up an injury in the Aussie schoolboys carnival but returned last weekend.
Ronaldo Mulitalo - still injured.
Vito Tevaga (u18) - played quite a few games now filling in for Mulitalo, Lumelume and Xerri. Probably the first to sit once everyone is healthy.
Jonaiah Lualua (u18) - played a few games at centre or wing filling in.

Halves
Luke Jurd - has also played 9 and is currently coming off the bench
Jayden Millard (Gymea)- currently starting at 6 but has played some 9
Braydon Trindall - has played every game at 7

Hooker
Harrison Smith - has played most games
Lachlan Scarpelli - bench hooker/utility
James Russell - has played most games (Gymea)
Isaac Longmuir (De La Salle) - one of the best players from the U18 team; got in to a single game

Prop/Lock
Cruz Topai-Aveai (2019) - missed a few games but back now
Monty Raper - has played every game
James Roumanos (Bulldogs) - has played every game.
Kalani Pewhairangi-Charlie (2019) - has played most games as bench prop
Fine Kula - has played as a bench forward (Como)
Tom Harris (Engadine) - has played one game

Back Row
Teig Wilton (2020) - Team captain. Has played most games. Played for NSW u20 Origin.
Josh Carr - Played of the bench in the u20 Origin game.

Another win for the 20's. Only 2 rounds to go and they are sitting in 2nd with a top 4 spot guaranteed, a top 3 looking highly likely.

1 - Knights (38 Points, +298)
2 - Sharks (36 Points, +119)
3 - Panthers (34 Points, +105)
4 - Mounties (32 Points, +58)

The minor premiership still a chance with Newcastle and Penrith playing each other this week. The Sharks play two teams way down the ladder to finish (Tigers are last out of 12 teams; Warriors are 10th).

Apparently the Jersey Flegg will play a top 8 so the games can be aligned with the NSW Cup finals. A top 8 from 12 teams is a bit of a joke IMO. Currently the 8th place team has SEVEN wins for the year. Personally I think they should have gone with a top 6. The Qld 20's comp has a top 6 from 15 teams.

That's an absolute joke. Ridiculous.

That Knights team must have some fire power in it to accumulate a F/A of 298 which is far superior to the other teams.

Xerri had a blinder apparently. Clearly too good for that grade. I assume he'll be in the Jets team next year with Dugan and Morris the centres (if we keep Holmes or get Barba for FB)

Unless we keep Dugan on one of the wings, can help Xerri get used to first grade.

Holmes
Dugan
Xerri
Morris
Katoa

Not bad.

Hard to argue with Duges not being on the wing when he adds value like yesterday but i think we can benefit more as a team when he's playing centre plus im a big fan of giving young centres a taste of FG on the wing as their intro to FG, Ramien proves that theory wrong but generally i reckon it works more than it doesn't.

Has Xerri played a day of wing in his life. Looks an out and out centre for mine. If he's a centre play him at centre.

Not in the last few years anyway. No need to rush him to first grade - he just turned 18. A year of NSW Cup will be good development for him. Morris can keep the left centre spot warm for him.

With Dugan and Morris as your centres I’d almost say it’s a given he’ll get some game time next year.

Steve Rogers played in a GF when he was 18, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

If Flano thought Xerri was ready he wouldn’t have signed Morris or tried to re-sign Leutele. I think they want to let him start the year with the Jets.

Flano said on TripleM last night that Xerri is a "year or two behind" where Ramien is.
