It was the first thing I thought of and I know nothing ... so you'd think that he and his manager would have thought of it.

I see this as a way for him to move on from NFL without losing face. If he misses out on the Olympics because of a 'technicality' then he's not perceived as a failure - just unlucky.

He can then come back to the NRL, Super Rugby or whatever he decides on etc etc
