I understand what your saying buddy but 4 the amount they get paid if they dont perform then they deserve a little crap a little bit of bad stuff is acceptable but a season of it eg poms is not

i think the main prob is when it gets taken away from the field

i personally think the majority of our squad did great last season

we were screwed by injuries/sackings when we didnt have alot of talent 2 start with

i have supported sharks as long as i can remember and will 4 the rest of my life

unfortunately with have the wrong mix of players so all we can do is tough it out

Look mate, Im 6`3, 115 kilo and bench 160, a 130 kilo lat pulldown, I can do 18 chinups and 27 dips, although Im no Iron shark, I am a fair unit.

Ive been training the housedown and make no mistake, I know for a fact I could run the ball harder and more often than Jacob Selmes, Ian Donnelly and Jack Afamasaga did last year, if you dont believe that then fine.

But no way would I compare myself to our guys now, dougie, snowy, vave, cuthbo, these guys are genuine bloody good players, Ill be doing nothing but cheering them on.

how do you " know for a fact " that you're better than those guys who have played footy all their lives & made it to 1st grade among thousands of hopefuls?
I know that "as a fact" I was the worst player on my junior team, but out of hundreds of talented kids the only one who made it was Scotty Hill!
I went to school with Scott's older brother Matt who was picked for every junior rep team as a hooker but was never good enough. And his older brother was bloody good too!
So I get a little annoyed by someone saying their big 'n' strong so therefore they'd be better than someone who's played footy their whole life!
It's one thing to be passionate about the Sharks, as we ALL are, but to start peddling crap like you have above is going too far!
Stick to hitmans hypotheticals, they're worth reading :dougy:

Mnc, I do understand where your coming from mate, the endless talent that must be there growing up in newsouth must be overwhelming. I never thought I could make it to any kind of respectable level in a position that required massive skill like 1,6,7 and 9, but as a prop foward I do believe a can perform to a level which guys in our team were last season, but hey, its just a matter of opinion. Cheers mate.

I've already locked him into a ten year contract with the Yarrawarrah Tigers, I'm his manager and he's going all the way to the Sharks front row! My cut is 75%. Call me, we'll talk.:borat

Just curious boys... when you're talking about your bench lift weight, are you talking about weight at reps x sets or just single lift?

My current bench cycle is 3x 10 x 120kg.

I'm 46 (well, as of today) and weigh 112kg

Lol mate, In the Victorian rugby league I dont think there are too many scouts as the standard of footy down here is a bit of a joke, sounds like a huge contradiction seeing I was just implying I had what it takes to match it with certain first graders, but its really dissapointing how serious they take it, I was doing around 10 sessions a week trying to get superfit for pre season training, and I was shocked when the guy said "we do one session a week" :(

Melbourne storm dont have a NSW cup team anymore, so they supposedly feed thier players from the Vic rugby league, all the "brothers" show up in thier storm gear thinking they are professionals and they are in with a huge chance of getting a first grade selection, but its complete bs as the storm squad is just chockablock full of depth.

One way I found to lose all friends at training was to show up in my sharks retro jersey lol, I learned just how many people dislike the sharks pretty quick.

Its funny though, I was actually talking to a guy who was a coach of the now defunct team called the Ballarat highlanders, and he said a few yrs back a scout from Cronulla came down to watch an 18 year old 5/8 train, and as soon as he saw him train he instantly offered him a contract, but because the guy wanted to drink piss and party he declined the offer.

This guy who was telling me also was a massive st george supporter and spun A LOT of bs.

He tried to tell me that a couple of years ago, the NRL tried to limit the weight of a player, having a cut of point at 103 kilos, is this right mate?

I got 2 reps of 160 and 4 reps of 130 on the pulldown.

Holysht fitz, your a bloody unit! I feel like giving you rep power just for that act of strength! :)

lol mate, its only 2 reps and i really bloody struggled with the second, trust me it wasnt pretty!

It was quite suprising to see weyman doing what was it, 4 of 160? and mickey paea getting 175 up, huge effort.

George rose gets 180, but with his barrellish chest and short arms he doesnt have very far to push the bar up yeah?

I'm a svelte 85 kg and can lift my 2 and a half year old son onto my shoulders. I have no idea what I can or cannot press. :)

I played league at school (winger) and touched the ball very infrequently.

I'm hanging on to my 30's grimly. Well, until August anyway.. :(
